Overall excellent value for money. Our room was large with a superking bed. It was clean albeit a bit dated and the bathroom needs updating (room 4). We booked our evening meal there. My wife had the sea bass which she rated excellent and I had the sirloin steak which at £29 I was expecting to be good. It looked great when it arrived but unfortunately was tough as old boots. I gave up on it after a few mouthfuls. In fairness the waiter deducted 50% of the cost of the steak. Breakfast was excellent. At sub £60 for bed and breakfast there is nothing to complain about.

Ordered two Flat Whites a Danish and a Croissant this morning. They weren't Flat Whites more a weak Cappuccino in a bucket. The Danish was burnt. The croissant wasn't burnt, more destroyed looking like an unwanted chipolata that had been left on the BBQ. Asked the waitress if we could have pastries that were edible. She went to the kitchen then came back and asked what was wrong with them. Showed her a picture of a croissant. 'Oh so you'd like it less burnt?' I said not burnt at all actually. She went away came back and said the manager said that's how we prepare them. Its not the fault of the waitress or the Barista its clearly the manager - has not a clue how to prepare food.

I was in this restaurant 4 times. Each time I was impressed by the quality of food, especially a fresh fish delicious cooked.
Portions are huge, staff very friendly and useful. Interior decoration is absolutely lovely, old, historic and romantic. The service was fast and the cook absolutely Brilliant!
I ve celebrated my birthday their, as well.
It was a great success and I ve got few honey bee jars as present.
Highly recommended.

Friendly and attentive service.
Food was good with generous but not oversized portions. Beer was good, cellar cooled real ale. Dining area was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for a decent meal.

A very nice hotel / restaurant in the heart of North Oxfordshire, the service was excellent, especially given our visit was for Sunday lunch for 15, although it was made easier as we were asked to pre order before hand, the pre order had to be changed on the day and this was done without issue, the prices are favourable for the area and the location is very good in the centre of a large village, can highly recommend this venue
