Lovely!
Visited here for dinner before retiring to the Stansted airport premium Inn for an early flight tomorrow.

Nice & simple menu, very reasonably priced with a good beer selection in the bar.

Starters are great, I had the chicken goujons which came with a sticky sweet chilli dip which was legendary!

All in all a cosy & warm welcome awaits you.

Lovely country pub featuring great value for money and we'll cooked and presented food.
Midweek 2 for a tenner meals. We had fish and chips which was excellent and a reasonable portion. Bishop Nick's beers on. Really can't fault it.

Homely local pub with excellent service . I called in en route to picking someone up from nearby Stansted airport for something to eat as wanted a traditional pub meal, which I certainly got. I ordered the sausage and mash which was excellent value and served piping hot with loads of gravy. It was a trio of sausages including Cumberland and wild boar flavours; a similar vegetarian option was also available on the menu. All in all great value for less than £15 ( including drink and coffee) and the proprietors were friendly and welcoming, even offering to look up the flight details whilst I was waiting. Would highly recommend if in the area

We visited this pub for the first time on Sunday, despite being local, with some friends. We were all very impressed with the ambience, the service, and the food. Amazingly good value- this will be a regular stop for us now. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fine lightish lunch for 3 pensioners as we had been out last night for a double birthday meal with friends, just what we wanted and served with excellent attention to our requests and their suggestions - e.g. selection of cheeses rather than just Cheddar with a cheese ploughmans, no 'green stuff' with the chilli burger and 'lots of tartare sauce' with my scampi and super tasting chips - not too chunky nor too thin like French fries
Sad to hear that Terry is having to retire, for health reasons, after 12 years and bringing the food quality back up to excellent and very good value after several previous owners.
