Wickes

Needed to get 6mm Twin and earth cable for new cooker install, Wickes was the only place that had the length of cable I required in stock at the store.
No doubt I could of got cheaper on eBay but it would of caused delays to being able to cook. Customer service and free parking were adequate.

Due to the over large queing system you put in place, you only have 1 van space which is being used by cars. Very frustrating when your trying to pick up heavy goods in a van.

Staff were unable to find a Wickes product in store which website said was in stock.
Couldn't or wouldn't order a replacement. Couldn't tell me when one may be delivered to the store.
Order online and pay for delivery it would be much less painful than dealing with the 2 members of staff that I met today 18/06/22

I thought I would pick up some plaster today. I haven’t been into the wickes store for a while. However I do have have a trade pro account and was near to the Crawley branch. I was at the counter to pay and wanted to use my trade pro discount as I have every other time I have used wickes over the years. normally in the past I’ve shown my email provided from wickes and they have used the code on the email. I asked the girl serving if she could do the same as I don’t have a card or app. I showed my emails that prove I have the trade pro account. But she said she didn’t know what to do. I asked if she could ask for help or get the manager to help. The manager another girl was walking past the counter she asked what she should do and this manager said no card can’t do anything and walked out of the doors. Not even willing to look into the matter further. I’ve never been given a wickes card and if I had this would have been years before when the account was first opened. I left the plaster behind. I couldn’t believe how rude this manager was. No management skills in how to speak to customers or help customers. I have been using wickes over 20 years. I won’t be using Crawley wickes ever again. I used to use Dorking and Epsom wickes when I lived closer to these branches. Never had an experience like this from them and they were always helpful.

A really useful DIY and trade superstore! Good value and good products. Just wish it was closer to home!

Parking is challenging, they have van spaces but they’re always taken up by people in cars, you end up the sticking right out of a normal sized space & can’t open your doors. People from the opposite retail park use it so they don’t have to wait. Automatic fines for people who don’t use wickes would deter this. Similar system as lidl has.

Any chance management could keep there stocks level correct, and enough stock on the shelf, I’ve been having to buy this joint filler from,
East Grinstead / seven oaks / littleHampton / Woking / which all these branch’s manage to have stock, just Crawley lacks all the stock in most things, needs a management reshuffle from another store temporarily to train them.

Car park, quite small and given cmight be trying to get a lot in the vehicle, not much space between them. Staff are helpful and friendly, but the online stock checker isn't accurate and whilst there is relatively good amount of stock overall, can't guarantee getting what you want, if looking for something specific.
