If you don't want a Burrito the Carnivore Fries are where it's at.
The place it's self was maybe lacking some storage as there were boxes cluttering the space just inside the door, again at the bottom of the stairs. Plenty enough seating for about 20 people upstairs, also where the food prep happens. The food was of quite a reasonable quality and quite reasonably priced. We would definitely eat here again. We just felt a little tidy up and attention to detail here and there wouldn't be a bad thing. All in all, a good eating experience.
My friend and I are tourists visiting Lancaster from France. For our last night in town we wanted something nice but quick to take home as it was below freezing outside. That’s when we found Go Burrito on google maps, with a generous 4 and a half star review.
As we walked in, we were passively disturbed by the food on the counter not looking fresh at all, as if it were made long before being served and was just sitting there getting stale for hours, maybe even days.
Due to the miraculously high ratings, and the fact that it was getting late and very cold, we decided to go against our will and ordered our food.
The process of ordering the burrito was illogical, and confusing due to the amount of random condiment varieties scattered around, and the fact that they don’t have ketchup for the chips, instead you have to choose a burrito sauce for it.
In addition, we didn’t even have the choice of eating inside the restaurant, as when we asked the employee for a reason, he just responded with “the upstairs is a mess at the moment.”
Let’s just say that the wrap tasted exactly how it looked, stale and not fresh whatsoever. The meat was very salty and some grains of rice were as hard as a rock.
Chips didn’t look fresh either, and neither did the sauce. My friend’s chips were as hard as ice.
I can not fathom why this place has such high ratings, my only guess is that it went downhill recently.
To be avoided, unless it massively turns around. I will not be back.
The image attached was meant to be a large naked go burrito. Just got this little bowl of slop. Disgusting and vile.
Would not order from this place anymore.
I have now travelled the world, visited many burrito bars in many places however GoBurrito remained in my view the best. This weekend I had the opportunity to return to Lancaster and test my theory..
... I was not disappointed in the slightest! Incredibly fast service, plentiful portions, unbelievable value and honestly the most flavour from the meat and spicy rice!
Hopefully it won't be another 8 years before I have another but if it is, it will still be worth the wait!
