We've had many a good holiday with Skills Coaches. The coaches are clean and comfortable, with on board toilet.
However as I'm now by myself, I would still recommend. There are always people who will talk to you, plus normally at meal times people sit at the same table the whole time. So this helps too, if you are a person who likes to take an interest in others and you like to talk too. Being single though can have it's drawbacks too, as there are holidays that have to pay for a single supplement. So look for the ones that you don't have to pay, unless you don't mind, and some of them are reasonable.
The hotels have on the whole been very clean, comfortable with cheery and helpful staff. There is sometimes free entertainment on on a couple of evenings, however this is normal seen in the holiday brochure.
I've would recommend a holiday village, not for everyone I understand. However there is something to do all do should you wish to, with bingo and superb entertainment on in the evenings. All manor of dancing, to a live band and vocalist. Then amazing shows by the entertainment team, singing, dancing, the outfits are worthy of any top theatres and of course the comedian. Not forgetting the day trips that are put on, these are also seen in the holiday details.
So go ahead treat yourself/ yourselves, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Day trip to Camden market 19/8/22, gave them one star because I had to to start the review. We arrived at Mount Street at 8:15am and waited till about 8:50am before phoning to see where the coach was, it stated on the travel ticket pick up was 8:30am, there were four other people waiting aswell, one of them was a child who must have been more disappointed than us to find out we weren't going, we spoke to them and they said they never recieved a call or email either. I hadn't recieved a phone call or email from skills to to say the trip had been cancelled (where as I recieved both a call and email for the previous trip which also got cancelled this month). So I bought single trip tram tickets to get to the city, as we were supposed to be getting a lift home from a family member after the trip in the evening) but I threw them away unknowingly at that time the trip had been cancelled, this cost us £2.70 each way so in total cost £10.80 for the both of us, as we had to buy the return tickets. My partner made the call, to the traffic office as he knows the coaches can be tracked to find out where it was, he was told to wait while they could find someone who could help, he spoke to them for a while before passing me his phone, LEONIE said she could only apologise but I said I didn't want her apology just to know what had happened to the trip, so she said in a nasty tone of voice, "alright, you dont want my apology, then I will be factual with you then" she was rude and shouldn't be talking to loyal customers this way, it will put me off from using skills in future. I also booked a day off work to go on this trip, so it has wasted a day of annual leave and my partner was asked to work but didnt, to go on a non existent tour, so this has also cost him a day of paid overtime. I wouldn't have minded so much but to get to the pick up point then to be told your trip is cancelled, also it's the second trip to be cancelled in the same month, what is going on skills?, your customer skills are lacking and front desk staff are either rude or fob you off.

Booked a day trip to The Black Country Museum. Time for leaving was 08:40. Bus turned up at 09.10, we got on then the driver stated he was making a comfort stop at Tamworth. We stayed there for 25 minutes. Then back on the bus to our Destination. We arrived at The museum at 11.10, before we got off the driver stated he would be leaving at 16.00 hours. I am rather perplexed at the little amount of time we actually spent there we needed more time, there is so much to see, and do, but felt we wee up against it timewise as for the driver, well I think by his attitude, he was having a bad day. Certainly won't
be using this company anytime soon. I have checked with other tour operators, and they give the passengers five hours minimum.if you are reading this review, go elsewhere

Laurence is a hero, we love him, so patient and chill. Give him a raise or something. Legend. Credit to your company.

In October 2022 I could not see the trip I wanted for July 3023 so telephoned to ask if it would be on - the operator said yes and I booked it with a deposit/insurance premium. 2 days later I called to cancel as I was notified of hospital operation around that time and I would be recuperating for weeks after. They point blank refused to give me a refund despite the trip not being advertised in their brochure - they have lost me and now my friends as customers. I have written to Competitions and Marketing Authority as I believe they have breached the law.
It is not good practise to be so intransigent and they are losing loyal customers as a result. Shame on you.

I had a day trip to Borough Market, booked in May, for travel on 2nd July. Just by chance i was checking other day trips and noticed that they no longer had this on their itinary. I emailed Skills on Sunday 27th June with my concerns and received a reply Monday 28th June that they had cancelled the trip! My daughter had booked a day's holiday from work to accompany me but Skills failed to inform us that they had cancelled. I went into their Nottingham office to claim a refund. Another surprise awaited me. They can not refund so they have to take my Bank details to send to another department. I questioned that If i had booked it on my card surely they could refund it directly back onto my card. I was unhappy that my Bank details were scribbled onto a scrap of paper for all to see. I will never use this company again as they are obviously extremely unprofessional. I wonder how long this refund will take now? The pandemic is no excuse for bad service which was the reason i got fobbed off with.
