C Dawson & Sons

Having not lived in the area for close to 20 years, I make a point of taking back a load from here when I'm visiting relatives. The pork pies are the best you'll get anywhere. The baked goods are fantastic as well, especially the breadcakes. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

I would highly recommend Dawson Butchers. The meat is excellent quality and competitively priced. They have a great range of raw, marinated & cooked meat, so far they have had everything I've needed. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, they have helped with any questions I've had. Plus their opening hours are very handy for fitting around work.

Great food fast service lovely staff

I like to support independent businesses and avoid supermarkets, however, every time I use this butchers I receive very cold service and am made to feel like an absolute inconvenience to the staff. Very disappointing. They are also excellent at making you feel highly stupid (eg. Not being helpful when asking for advice or for more information about how best to cook certain cuts). A shame as the meat is of decent quality.

Very very salty pork pies .gone downhill.

Say they open at 6.30 but they blatantly open at 7. Seems deliberate just to rack up a queue.
Slow service, counter staff don’t know much about what they’re selling.
Some stuff is good but definitely had better quality meat and cheaper from other butchers such as RM Kealey in Snaith

Arrived 10 minutes before the advertised closing time, door was locked and staff still moving around on the inside. Staff member simply said "closed" through the window at a locked door.

Had rushed back to get there before closing - terrible service, shocking for a small family business. I have no doubt they had not run out of any food and shall not return, shame.
