The café building is converted from a remnant of the Industrial Age (part of a former tannery) set beside the lodge (a kind of small man made lake). It’s a lovely stopping point on the walk between Colne and Wycoller, with cheery service and wholesome food (and lovely cakes) at very reasonable prices. It’s very welcoming of walkers, cyclers, family groups and people with dogs. There are lovely views across the small mill lodge and outside seating for warmer weather. My only criticism would be having to ask for the table and chairs to be wiped before we sat down, even though the staff were not massively busy. However this was minor and I’d happily go again.

Lovely cafe, good coffee and of course bacon and sausage bun 😁 well worth a wee visit.

Lovely little walk around the lake so great for the kids.

We were needing a brew and we saw the sign so called great place to visit on a sunny day you can sit out by the lake and watch the birds or on a wet day you can (like we did sit in rain fall on the lake.)
The staff were pleasant the drinks were fine
There is plenty of parking and free WiFi (if you want or need it) We will return and try more of the menu next time. Of

Lovely friendly staff, freshly made and prepared food. Yummy homemade cakes, which were all nicely displayed and covered too. Nice place to sit and watch the ducks.

Very nice cafe at the side of a fishing lake. Decent food and drinks.
Plenty of free parking.
Disabled people would be better using the lower car park down the steep slope.

The service could have been warmer, as could the lukewarm drinks. Nice place, shame the cafe isn't more memorable

*Thank you for the response. On this occasion we didn't feel it was worth approaching staff as the initial communication wasn't particularly positive - in fact staff were completely disinterested and practically mute when we placed our order and we felt like inconveniences. When we returned our crockery from outside the attitude was much the same, so we chalked it up to experience. However, I appreciate that people can have bad days, especially in customer-facing roles such as yours.
