My girlfriend and I ventured into this lovely little cafe after a day at Gunwharf, and we loved it, and will be going back for sure. It’s not actually called Café Oasis, the owner explained to me that he had borrowed the barrier from his son’s cafe. This is actually called The Slipway, as it is directly opposite a slipway across the road. The cafe has a great nostalgic feel to it, and took my back to my 80s childhood with some of the decor inside. The gentleman that owns and runs the place is a very friendly guy, and up for a good chat. We ordered our food and paid by card, and took a seat outside to enjoy the weather. Food came quickly and my cheeseburger was so full of flavour, topped with a very nice mature cheddar. My girlfriend had a smoked salmon and cream cheese baguette, which she described as perfect, and was surprised how much salmon was in it. For afters, I couldn’t resist a strawberry ice cream, the good stuff, made with clotted cream and real strawberry chunks. We loved this place and would recommend to anyone. 10 out of 10, will eat here again!

Couple of days spent in Portsmouth site seeing. Had our breakfasts at Cafe Oasis each morning. Superb service and food. Support the independent businesses.

Wouldn't recommend. Was overcharged for food and drink. The drinks we had were wrong and so was the food. When we asked politely that we haven't got the order we placed the owner insisted we were wrong and demanded we paid an extra amount for it. He was rude and totally disorganised. Will not go again.

Absolutely awful service was poor. Orders were wrong!!! He then tried to blame us for writing it down wrong then tried to charge an extra £2.90 for a mistake he had made. Had to ask for our drinks because we didn't get what we asked for.
Acted very aggressive towards us was not polite not fit for customer service avoid at all costs

Basic cafe but excellent value for money. Freshly cooked food. Run by older couple, but short-staffed but very little delay in service. Helpful, friendly, the place looked a bit tired but no complaints.

FAWLTY TOWERS EXPERIENCE

Food was ok freshly cooked not bad price. We had tea, cups were stained, he changed them but replacement dirty too. We are sure he overcharged but he wouldn't consider it, said he had checked twice but failed to give us itemized receipt to check. For 4 teas and one slice of cake it cost nearly £16 which seemed much too much. The tea is nearly £3 a person via a pot to share but you don't get any more each than a pot from Costa which costs £2.20.
The cafe is old and a bit grubby, toilet the same all in need of renovation.
Male owner grumpy at best, not that keen to provide much of a service.
If you like the Fawlty Towers experience then this is for you , if you want a clean good value family meal then maybe not.
