Nice homemade afternoon tea. £6 each. No frills, nothing fancy but lovely scones and homemade jam in a beautiful garden. To be honest I make better cake myself, tasted like it was made with margarine not butter but the scones were so good it didn't matter.
It's either ordinary tea or ordinary coffee, no decaf, no other types of tea. Really wouldn't be too much work to diversify that surely.

We had a cream tea (£7 per person) and it was a very generous one! I loved lemon drizzle and coffe and walnut cake in addition to our scones! They were fresh and tasted great. Homemade plum jam was a bonus! Recommend as a pit stop to refresh yourself during cycling. 😊

Such a shame looked so inviting, lovely garden, cream tea was actually delicious but was met by a very rude a miserable owner. Unfortunately this was our first impression of new forest, was such a shame as we’d been looking forward to visiting. Would just like to point out though that the farm shop next door was very helpful and was able to purchase a bottle of water. However we moved on with our bike ride and visited a pub just 10 mins down the road and was welcomed by them with lovely food and friendly people. We will definitely give Acres down farm cream teas and camping a wide berth next time.

The farm shop has good food choices and there is a lovely garden attached which serves cake and cream teas.

Stopped off here during a long bike ride from Burley as the cottage looked very inviting. Unfortunately, that is the ONLY positive comment I can make about this place, we were so shocked by just how money-driven they were here!

A sign on the way in makes it clear that there is a £4.50 minimum spend per person, which I'd have absolutely no arguments with, IF it wasn't cash only and situated in the middle of nowhere. The cream teas were around £7 each.

Sadly we only had a small amount of cash and hoped we'd be able to buy just a couple of cold drinks. On entry, we approached an old lady who was the absolute spit of Dolores Umbridge: that fake, beaming smile and a sickly sweet voice to boot! After hesitantly asking about the availability of cold drinks, with dollar signs glistening in her eyes and a wide smile, she very "politely" insisted: "We do have cold drinks, but you MUST purchase them with a cake." Neither of us having any desire for a cake on such a scorching hot day (and especially not after that encounter!), we left and rode on to find a pub further ahead (which did take cards).

How on earth the place can still be in business whilst swindling people like that is beyond me, it's pure greed and surely questionable trading standards. Do yourself a favour and avoid, lest Professor Umbridge place a hex on you and force you to consume a lifetime's supply of cake.

As l am pre diabetic. ĺ recently asked if l could just have the cream tea .This was refused with the comment that they can't cater for everyones tastes. They only offer two choices! I thought that scones, tea jam and cream were standard fayre! We have been here several times but on most occasions we have left embarrassed by the attitude of the lady serving us,or thinking what an odd way to run a business.Once my daughter asked to use the toilet before ordering, but she had to pay upfront for her choice before being allowed to do so.We won't go there again but somewhere where the experience is a pleasure as its meant to be and where we won't be made to feel uncomfortable for making perfectly reasonable requests.

We walked to Acres Down and found that they were opening later than expected so we sat and waited. We met the house cat Ben and found him to be very friendly and inviting.
Soon enough the owner opened up. We had come for cream tea but found that the owner only accepts cash so opted for tea and cake instead as that's all we had money for.
The cakes were delicious and the coffee very generous.
Marked as 4* as the wasps put us off. I know you can't do much about them as you're outdoors but it did make us rush our food and drink.
It is a lovely, unique little place and well worth a visit if you're in the area.
