Came here yesterday afternoon for a bite to eat before going on a walk around the quarry. Feel good food with I must say the most perfectly cooked egg I've ever seen. And I'd 100% come back just for that particular egg.

I'm not sure what the other reviews are saying that they take long, our food came extremely quickly, however I do believe that because of the location and the fact the food is so good, it is popular amongst walkers hence I assume it can get quite busy during the morning period. So if you do want something to eat quickly I would avoid the busy times. However if this doesn't bother you then any time would be just as good.

I will 100% be coming back on our next trip to Wales.

Used to be amazing years ago but it has gone downhill. Now it is too expensive for smaller portions than they used to be. £9.00 for a regular sized breakfast (Small and large also available) and that doesn't even include a drink. Limited seating, small side room gone and half the inside was closed even though it was a busy day, we had to sit outside at a sloping table.

Absolutely avoid at all costs. Food no good and service and attitude from staff appalling....

There were no seats and we were told to ask another customer to share their table.

When ordering a large breakfast and asking to swap my black pudding for mushrooms, I was given an extra hash brown.

I told the staff and they said I don't remember you ordering that. To be then told that I couldn't have my mushrooms.... I should.be grateful I had an extra hash brown!!!

I've never in my life been spoken to in this way before.

I would rate no stars but sadly unable too!!!!!!!!

I used to visit this cafe when I was younger with my dad and grandad following a day of climbing. I went back today hoping for a nostalgic experience. Unfortunately I was hugely disappointed. I was part of a group and we all ordered large breakfasts. They all came out at completely different times with atleast 30 mins between the last two breakfasts being served. They also failed to mention when we ordered that there was no black pudding left and I actually requested extra black pudding for which I paid extra for. When the breakfasts were eventually served, they all came out without blackpudding. If they had told us at the time of ordering then this wouldn't have been an issue. When we raised the issue, there was no explanation or apology at all. They refused to give any level of refund and were extremely rude. The waiting staff were very unprofessional. They were receiving several different complaints from other people and all the staff were stood behind the till loudly slagging off customers. There was no level of care for the service provided at all. It definitely was not the chilled out, kind, welcoming experience that this cafe once offered. Very disappointing.

Horrible service, tasteless food. We had a normal burger and a veggie burguer. £20. It comes with unseasoned chips. The burger super dry, even the lettuce and tomato.

They seemed quite confused an too busy to handle. Made a few wrong dishes while waiting.

Long wait, not worth, sorry.

We went here for breakfast and it was sublime! A great team with excellent service. Maybe not the cheapest breakfast you could find but there was plenty of very tasty food on everyone's plate - great value!

Party's long over. There are better cooked breakfasts and hearty meals for walkers, at other cafes/restaurants in town, at a better price too. It's no longer a refuge for hikers, climbers and otherwise outdoors enthusiasts, as evidenced by the fact that they now close from September till the next summer.

It's a great open space over two floors that could be utilised much better. Time for the owners to sell up and move on, so the space can be repurposed to better suit the needs of the community and local economy year round. Not just the needs of tourists over the Easter and summer holidays.

Great food with quick service. Had a spinach cheese pie and a tuna cheese baked potato here. Had coffee and tea too. Happy with everything, including decor and prices. Can easily recommend.
