Cakes & Bakes - Sutton

Cakes and bakes, one of the only eggless cake shops in Sutton. They offer a range of eggless cream base cakes from whole cakes, cupcakes to slice cakes. Not all cakes are eggless and the sponge is made with butter, so shame it's not suitable for vegan.

The cakes may not be for everyone's liking as they're less sweet, compared to most cake shops. I purchased 4 different flavours, strawberry, Ferrero Rocher, Mango. Overall the cakes were decent for the price you paid, they did lack depth especially the black forest. However I usually find this with most cream cakes.

The sponge itself was abit dry and flaky but the cream in each layer made up the overall moisture. The creams texture is slightly more dense and less sweet compared to real cream as it's made with soy milk, however you would barely notice it.

I have given it 4/5 because it was down to the lack of depth on flavour however for the price you are paying it's worth it.

We ordered a photo cake with Spiderman, 2 days before the party. It was ready to collect at the exact time we mentioned in the order and looked superb! It tasted even better and all the guests at the party loved it! The guys at Cakes & Bakes surely know what they're doing. We recommend them warmly.

Really nice and fresh cakes we always buy from this shop. I bought a 12inch fruit delight cake for my daughters Birthday celebrations. Staff was very courteous and accommodated our request for separately purchased decorations to personlise the cake. My guests at the party specially mentioned it was very soft sponge and not too heavy or sugary but just right. Thanks for

I have ordered a birthday cake, cakes slices and few accessories. The cake was almost inedible, dry and tasteless. One of the items I ve ordered did not arrive.
To be honest, I was very upset about the quality of their cakes, as I am à regular customer and I ve never been disappointed before.

The cake slices are okay but the whole cakes are dry. The customer service is something else. Walked into the Sutton store as Cake Box had a queue and there wasn't anyone in the cakes and bakes store. Bought cake slices and my little one wants to eat one in the car so I asked for a spoon they didn't have one so asked for a tissue and despite a pile of napkins behind the woman at the counter she tells me she's run out. That moment there I decided I won't be coming back again. Now I get why they aren't busy like their competitor. These days there are too many bakeries out there what makes you stand out is quality of product and customer service! I hope you work on that.

A very delicious cake that makes my taste buds come alive. If you're visiting Sutton High Street Surrey this is a highly recommended treat. Lovely staff with great customer service.

Personalised freshly baked cakes everyday. My husbands birthday fell on a weekday, and so I just needed something small for the family, tasty, and not too expensive. I found Cakes and Bakes in Sutton online and they said they had a freshly baked mini Oreo cake that I could collect today, and that they could personalise it. When I went to collect it, the shop was clean and had loads of beautiful cakes on display, and the lady was very friendly and helpful. The husband loved the personal touch, the kids loved the cake, and I loved the price at £17. Just wished it tasted more chocolatey. Still, I highly recommend it.
