Great site for walking along the canal into whitchurch. Pub at rear of canal. Cafe along the canal towards whitchurch. And plenty more dog friendly pubs and shops in whitchurch.
Really helpful and friendly owners.
Nice quiet site with a little road noise. But you get easy access no narrow lanes or tracks. Large pitches and clean shower block.

Pleasant site, good facilities, A49 near some traffic noise., Owners friendly and helpful. Pub with restaurant within 5mins walk, traditional style pub food, situated by canal lock. We enjoyed our stay.

Just booked a seasonal pitch for next year. Great site with canal at one end and pub just over the footbridge. The owner is great and the residents we met were very pleasant.

We have a seasonal pitch at Sunny Oak, we came as tourers once then decided to stay. The owners are a lovely family, nothing is too much trouble. The site is very clean and tidy with large pitches. There are lovely walks along the canal and a dog friendly pub just behind the campsite over a little footbridge. It is home from home for us, having just signed up again for another year.

Love it! Perfect setting steps away from the canal lock. Adults only which is really peaceful after our previous site. Lovely toilet and shower block. Beautifully maintained ground with loads of space. Would definitely recommend.

We recently visited Sunny Oak for a one night stay.
Upon arrival the lady was lovely giving us all the details and telling us about the facilities on site, toilets, wash areas etc.
Upon arriving and going to our pitch we realised that we were just behind the main gate which is directly off the A49 Tarporley Road, the traffic was constant throughout the day and night. There was no way you could relax in the peaceful surroundings. We couldn’t understand why there were so many statics caravans on site with the noise coming from the road. It’s not a peaceful site.
The facility block was excellent, clean.
The site is however a stones throw from the canal and a little pub, whereby the noise of the road disappears. The pub is only open for a few hours in the afternoon and again in the evening. It was very popular for food and the chips looked and smelt delicious.
We wouldn’t return only because of the road noise which unfortunately will only get worse, due to the general increase of cars on the road.

Good points:
2 minutes to a lovely stretch of canal.
Pub within a stones throw of the site.
Shower and toilet blocks new and very clean.
Owners/Wardens very friendly.
Bad points:
Very very close to the A49. The road noise was horrendous. The majority of the site is taken up by seasonal pitches and we were unlucky enough to be sited on the pitches just as you drive in which are closest to the main rd. As you travel through the site the road noise does dissipate slightly.
Mainly gravel with slithers of grass in between the large pitches. There is a large area at the back of the site which hasn't been developed and would make a great camping area (and its furthest away from the noise of the road).
My advice would be to insist on a pitch to the rear of the site away from the road..or not bother, as the noise levels from the road are awful. Sadly we were told it was the last pitch, however there were still some empty pitches overnight.

The owner was very helpful. The site was clean and had what you needed. There was nowhere to walk to as the road is extremely busy with no pavement. We did try to walk down the canal towpath but there was a huge area you couldn't pass due to mud. I know that is not the sites fault but it did limit what we were able to do. For us with a transporter and awning a stone pitch was not the best. If you have a motor home or caravan it would be fine. There is a nice pub just a couple of minutes walk away, you don't have to use the road. If you did want to go into town the taxi services are very good.
