The Barn Caravan Park

Liked: Location was excellent, close to the beach and train station. There is also an Asda and plenty of shops/restaurants within walking distance. The owner ensures the site is not over crowded so even though the site was full it felt like we had a lot of space . This is a big advantage the site has.

Disliked: Facilities (toilets/showers)are basic and I would prefer them to be a lot cleaner

Liked: Clean and tidy site with friendly and helpful manager. One big level field with pitches around the outside. Small cafe and shop open afternoons and weekends. Good for families with play equipment and plenty of space for games. 10 mins walk from beach, station and frequent buses along the coast. Lots to do in the surrounding area whether you like walking on the Downs, beaches, the vibrancy of Brighton or the Sussex countryside.

Disliked: Nothing. More toilets and showers are being built although we never found overcrowding to be a problem even at peak times. WiFi wasn't brilliant but that's not unusual and it is being improved apparently.

Liked: We had a fab weekend here - excellent location with a short walk to the beach and perfect for a birthday party celebration in Hove. It is clearly very well managed and has the personal touch. We called to arrange two pitches together and the owner sorted it for us - he's very responsive and easy to make contact with. Facilities are spotless and wide pitches spaced around the perimeter - not crammed in here. It was a hot August weekend but the trees provided very good shade on our pitch.

Liked: The Barn Park is clean, well-maintained and has good facillities. It's also in a great location - Lancing station is a 10 minute cycle ride and from there, there are regular train services to Shoreham, Brighton, Worthing and others. The site manager (I don't know his name) was also very helpful.

This was my 2nd stay at this site. It's not as "snobby" as the Brighton site, so it's a firm favourite with me. I can also see how it has developed nicely over 3 years.

Liked: Huge site with plenty of space for kids to run around but so big you couldn’t hear the noise. Only 5 mins from the beach and 15 walk to the train where you can get to lots of places including brighton and london so is great location for looking around the local area. Had plugs in the toilet area for hairdryers etc and freezer for freezer packs.
Owner was accommodating when we were going to be late.

Liked: Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Site was quiet, but still close enough to local amenities. Facilities were clean and always available. Freezer for own ice blocks available. Plenty of space on our pitch. Weather was lovely. Trees behind our pitch provided some shade during what was very hot weather. Site cafe available for drinks and ice creams - much appreciated after putting up a tent in hot weather.

Disliked: Cafe was a bit pricey

Liked: Lovely little site that's well looked after. Excellent facilities - toilets and showers are properly plumbed in. Owner popped over a couple of times to check all was okay. Felt very welcome. Will definitely visit again.

Local area: half a mile from the beach, local shop and local pub, so you don't need a car. The Perch on the seafront is a lovely place to stop for a glass of something or tea and cake. Half a mile to Lancing station if you want to explore further afield.

The site we were originally booked into was completely waterlogged when we arrived so it was impossible for us to use. Fortunately we got in contact with Jo at The Barn and he managed to accommodate us on a hard standing pitch. Jo is very friendly, and helpful.The site is very pleasant and well run and is situated just minutes from all the amenities you need for your holiday. All in all, Jo turned our visit from a near washout into a very pleasant experience.
