Liked: The Old Post Office Campsite is brilliant. We stayed for a week here in July 2022 and loved every minute of it. Everyone was very friendly and the pitches were spacious and well serviced (we stayed on a super pitch). Toilets and showers were immaculately clean. The showers are 50p for 10 minutes which is more than reasonable and there is change available on-site. Washer and dryer also available although I can't remember the cost (it wasn't expensive).

Fantastic access directly to the river with plenty of space for a few families on the shore. Swimming in the river is highly recommended.

Liked: Site is super clean, pitches have everything, staff are wonderful - attentive & helpful but not overbearing. The river running next to the site is so calming.
All in all a fantastic place and we will definitely be back.
Not the site owners fault but some of the approaches are a little tight with a tourer - However this isn't a huge deal as locals are obviously used to this and there are passing places.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Very Friendly Owner / Great Pitch with River 3mtrs away / Good Clean Shower & Toilet Block / Nice & Quite Site / Great Location (especially if doing hill walks around Wasdale or water sports on Wast-Water only 10 minutes away).

Would have been 5 Stars just a couple minor items. Better outside light women's toilets / larger Hooks in showers / Drip Mat in showers to stand on.

Very Pleasant 3 Night Stay.

Disliked: Nothing.

fantastic site, will definitely go again, quite, wild swimming in the river and close to a pub. staff friendly and helpful and always on hand to give advice on where to go.

we are happy to go to bed before 11 so didn't bother us, but if you want to drink and get loud this isn't the place for you, it's couples and families.

only downside is it only has 2 showers and 2 toilets, so a bit of a queue if they are fully booked on site, doesn't put me off but didn't really have to be anywhere at a set time.

Liked: Lovely setting right alongside the river, good sized pitches allowing you to park alongside the tent. Great facilities which were very clean and well maintained, the showers were just 50p for 10 mins so great value, very friendly welcoming staff. Ideal location for walking including Scarfell Pike and the pub serves great food just a short distance down the road. The site was very welcoming for dogs which was a pleasant surprise. You are also able to fish along the river if you would like. Free WiFi included on site.

Liked: Excellent value for money.
Beautiful and peaceful setting with river running through it.
Facilities were adequate. Change is available at site for the 50p required for showering.
Site was clean and tidy and in a good location for exploring the area.
Each pitch had its own picnic bench and car park spot.
Friendly staff
Pub serving eat in and takeaway food and lovely cafe very nearby
Wifi worked and is needed as I had no phone reception, sometimes a little slow

Disliked: Grass pitch was all mud being the end of the season which is understandable but after some rain made for a messy tent

Liked: The location is lovely and quiet with good size pitches. It is a small, friendly site. There is a lovely pub very close by that does very good food. The facilities were clean and there was everything we needed.

Disliked: The pitch we were on was very dark at night, the pitches in the circle were better lit. The shower block was meant to be heated, it was ok, (by ok I mean you could stand on the floor without fear of frostbite) for the 1st 3 days, but then on our 4th day it was chilly and by the 5th day it was freezing cold. It’s a good job the shower itself was warm.
