Packhorse Farm

Very nice campsite. The toilet block and showers are spotless. They are kept clean and tidy all day long. It's quiet and well kept. A little bit off the beaten track but good for walks along surrounding area. Only about 7 mins drive in to Matlock. No one bothers you everyone is polite and friendly. We will go again. It's very reasonably priced.

Ah, this place was brilliant! The bathrooms were awesome and clean! The hosts were so friendly and helpful and most of all, they were not horribly strict on the noise rule. In the previous camp site we couldn't even breathe loudly after 10pm. Here at Packhorse we made friends with all our neighbours and were having a great visit till way past ten. Respectfully ofcourse! We will definitely return! 💙

This is a really lovely site. The owner is really friendly and helpful too. We camped here with our 2 year old and couldn't fault it. Facilities were cleaned every day and kept tidy. Drinking water was available in several places around the site. The layout of the site was amazing, you feel like you are spread out with the hedges and trees dividing the site up. The area is so beautiful too. Definitely coming back here next year.

Called at the last minute for a next day booking. Was really pleased to be booked on the site. Gorgeous place not too far out of Matlock . Immaculately clean showers loos and pot washing area.
Lovely trees everywhere. The owners were fantastic and we would certainly recommend this site anytime. If you want to walk this area don't hesitate to book a lovely place with plenty things to see and do.

Honestly, stay away. The female owner is running a concentration camp. She discriminated our group with our age and gender. Upon arrival, we had the most unwelcoming experience. We arrived 2 guys, 2 girls, Late 20's/Early 30's, All professionals. The owner wasn't happy with us all staying in our 8 man tent together and told us how it wasn't something that she allows at the campsite due to our age, this was without even asking us how old we were. After travelling 3 hours to a campsite, this is the last thing we expected to hear after she already accepted our booking. After a long chat explaining how we are all responsible adults and not children, she said we could stay the night which bare in mind was already paid for.
Went to the allocated pitch and set up, within an hour, we were checked on by the owner, she came over and stated we could not play music and that she expects us to behave. We were absolutely shocked by the cheek of the woman. Multiple tents on her walk over were playing music and they were not spoken too.
The campsite is very compact and pitches are close together. The showers are very average, not the cleanest but very usable.

There are plenty of better campsites in the area, don't waste your time with this one.

What a gem! Our first time visiting this site and area. There was loads to do for the kids, lovely walks and scenery. The site was really well laid out and the toilet block was clean all day long. We had a meal from the shalimar which delivered to our pitch and was so tasty. Will be back.

Beautiful campsite i stayed here with my 4 children, the owners were very welcoming,
The shower block and toilets are kept very clean.
& The kids absolutely loved it.

Very happy with our stay will definitely be returning.

Very tidy family-friendly campsite situated a few minutes drive from Matlock. The campsite was well run and organised with good pitch sizes that meant even big tents had enough space. The washing facilities were clean and well looked after as were the shower blocks.
