Lovely place. Toilet facilities, park, stream to enjoy a play or fish, not too large and over run. The staff were amazing . A gentleman who did his rounds and loved our singing was so friendly and kind and helpful. Will definitely return .

Absolutely beautiful place to come for a fab break with the kiddies.
There is a river were all the children play on floats and some parents are swimming in the river.
The toilets and shower block is cleaned regularly so that's 5*
There is a code you can get off the camp shop to take your little ones for a bath. However the bath is only half the normal size but great to wash the children under 5 years old after paying in the river.

Me and my family have just spent 3 nights on site in the cedar pitch area. There were 4 tents and we were put together as requested. All the staff on the site were extremely helpful and friendly. We thought the lay out of the site was realy nice and spotless as there was always cleaning going on. The toilets and showers were plentiful across the site were kept clean and plenty of hot water as were the washing up areas. There was a pizza van came on Friday night which we used the pizza were very nice and reasonably priced. There were plenty of walks and cycle paths leading from the site with easy access to other activities like go ape and sherwood pines. The only negative for me was the play areas for the kids. For the younger children it was fine but for the older ones it was basic and sparse. It also could do with an open area for ball games. However this would not stop me going back and would recommend to anyone.

A short stay (3 nights - 2 adult and 2 children). Unfortunately, we were not lucky with the weather however we could still appreciate the beautiful site. Rivers, ducks and surrounded by countryside. We could imagine this park being full of life in the summer. Perfect for families, two parks for children to explore and a short walk to Sherwood Railway for a ride on the miniature steam train (ask in reception for directions). We intended to walk to Sherwood Pines as we were told it would take approx 30 minutes but the weather put a stop to this. Sherwood forest is a short drive away.
There is a small shop on site with friendly staff who were always very welcoming. There were also wardens who could be seen driving around and who were available to help when we arrived at our pitch.
The park was very quiet during our stay and was very peaceful at night.
Numerous toilet and shower blocks which were always warm and clean.
We are definitely planning on a return visit - hopefully when the sun is shining.

Returned in the Summer and did not disappoint. Beautiful weather meant hours of paddling in the water. I would recommend taking nets for pond dipping.
It goes without saying but be careful with children in the water, especially younger/ smaller children as the water level is uneven and therefore children can quickly go from shallow areas to deeper. There are areas to go and sit on the edges if you do not have a pitch near the river so children can paddle whilst you are watching.

Good park, very quiet. Nice river for kids to play in. Food in shop is a bit limited but enough for a quick meal.

nice big pitch next to the river, staff are brilliant and very helpful, only downside it was a bit noisy after 10,30 , but the campsite itself is great, definitely go again
