Hillfort Camping

Why aren't there more stars to give to this campsite? Very very friendly enthusiastic and charismatic owner John is very keen to get you everything you could possibly need then leaves you to relax and enjoy. He's full of great local knowledge too. Looking through other reviews it seems he treats everyone just as special as he treated us - olives from Sicily, salad and abundant offers. The site itself is beautiful, really really unique and the amenities are fantastic (check out the shower instruction button!). We had a lovely time and felt very welcome and at home. We cooked our dinner then sat up on the rocks and looked out at the amazing sea view. We massively recommend. Tidy.

We spent 4 nights in June and will come again! If you want panoramic views of sea and countryside; huge private pitches; lots of free hot water for washing up and showers but that sense of being 'off-grid' then this might be the place for you.
We loved climbing up one of the Cairns and watching the sunset.
John is a fantastic host and we enjoyed everything about our stay

This campsite is spectacular and John is an amazing host! He goes out of his way to make sure you have the most comfortable stay. We enjoyed amazing views and beautiful star gazing at night. The Yurt was beautiful and comfortable and John brought us wood logs to get ourselves comfortable with camp fire, even if he's very busy he makes sure to be available if you need him for any reasons. Thank you hillfort team and johnny! 🙏😊

We’ve just had the best time at Hillfort camping. The site is amazing with breathtaking views. John is so welcoming and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived.
This piece of land definitely has a soul and something special about it. Everything is well maintained and clean when it comes to facilities. John is super available and mindful about every detail. There is lots to do and explore in the area and we feel as though 5 days were not enough! We will definitely be back soon and miss this place already. Thank you for everything John! Recently Had a wonderful stay at hilford camping. The place is breathtaking with stunning views and incredible sunsets. One of the best parts of My stay was meeting John the owner, who I can honestly say is one of the most helpful kindest camp site owners we have ever encountered. The facilities were clean and tidy. lots of space between pitches can't wait to come back next year. X

Outstanding campsite in a beautiful location. Plenty of room to spread out, ample opportunity for privacy. Lots of firepits and wood available. John is the most welcoming host I have ever come across and is a font of local knowledge and recommendations. Customer service is above and beyond. Would recommend to all and will be back as soon as I can! Make sure you climb the mountain to watch the sunset, you'll struggle to find a better one!

We had an amazing ten days at this wonderful site. We will definitely be back next year. John is an amazing host and he makes sure you have all you need and leaves you to enjoy this special place. His love and enthusiasm for the area make him fantastic and totally unique. The pitches are huge and feel as nature intended. At all times due to the layout of the site it is tranquil and relaxing. We couldn't have asked for more.

Had a lovely weekend at Hillfort Camping. So good to see how much effort went towards making this place environmentally friendly. Great facilities - simple but perfectly enough for a comfortable stay. Loads of space in our pitch for our dog to have a mad run around (sorry she chased your cat down the road).
