We have just returned from a long weekend at Harvest Home Shepherds Huts near Raglan and can't speak highly enough of our visit. The gem of a find is nestled in an open field overlooking the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid mountains. We stayed in Hollie Lodge and were absolutely spoilt by the owners Barbara and Derek. The lodge itself was very well appointed, spacious and clean. It was ideal for our family of 4 including two young children. The lodge is situated close to a pond with a terrace with a bbq and fire pit, ideal for a glass of wine in the evening. Barbara and Derek were fantastic hosts. Their visits to check on us were very much appreciated especially by our two children. Thanks both, we will be back again soon!

A very last minute break away... We hadn't managed to get away since way before the pandemic so this was a something we nearly needed for us a bit of a romantic break... Barbra was so helpful we were so last minute i'm talking the day before last minute! We arrived to a warm greeting shown to the lodge where it was already dark but the heating was on & fridge was stocked with fresh milk, tea, coffee & welsh cakes a nice touch after the journey. To say we were totally surmised by the lodge was actually an understatement we couldn't get over the finishing touches,& the time taken to make sure there was everything in there to accommodate a cozy stay even soap, shower gel & towels all stocked. :) The place had full central heating & a electric fire stove which added to the cosiness. The real treat was waking up in the morning we couldn't believe the views the photos of the lodge simply did it no justice it was breath taking, mountains, in view a small pond & the sunrising instead of wanting to laze in bed we got up & sat watching the sun rise with a coffee wrapped in blankets (also supplied) We enjoyed a visit to Raglan Castle, Abergavenny & Goytre Warf. Lots of places to eat & walk around. We got home on our last night to a bottle of fizzy such a thoughful gift! We ran out of days as this was just a short break but we so want to go back!
