We booked the Butterfly Lodge for 3 nights. It was overall great! We had a hamper with some food waiting for us ( Eggs from the onsite farm, bread, milk ,jam and some other goodies) and the hot-tub was already warm.
The lodge itself was really nice, with a well fitted kitchen and a modern bath.
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side but we spent the days making a fire in the fire pit, taking photos of the local birds, lounging in the hot tub and we spent the evenings near the fireplace.
Overall it was a really relaxing experience and the owners were nice and accommodating.
Will definitely visit again!

Thanks so much for your wonderful communications in advance of my stay making sure I knew where I'd be and talking me through directions too. Thanks also for the lovely clean site, warm shower, quiet night (owls and pheasant call most welcome:)) and the beautiful valleyside view. And thank you for the opportunity to but fresh produce..rhubarb crumble is baking in the oven now I'm home ♡

We've just had 2 nights in our campervan at this great little site. Fantastic walks from the van with our collie dog. Brilliant café, best veggie breakfast ever.

A campsite with beautiful large pitches, a friendly hostess and peaceful surroundings. The sanitary facilities are not large; for the men one toilet, one urinal and one shower. The sanitary facilities could have been a little cleaner. But in general a very nice place to be!

We stayed on the campsite in a motorhome for over two weeks. The site is spacious, well maintained, clean and friendly. Even in the height of summer there should be plenty of space for everyone as the neatly marked out bays are easily double the normal size. There are walks aplenty, some great village pubs and the wonderful Stroud market just a few miles down the glorious Slad valley.

We stay in our camper van on the spacious, level camping field while we visit family in Stroud and we love it here!
The site is well laid out with mature trees and lovely flowers. The new toilet block is spotless and there is a seemingly endless supply of hot water in the showers .There are beautiful woodland walks with views across the valley straight from the campsite. Fresh eggs, plants and wood are on sale at the site entrance and there are 2 fire pits at the end of the camping field.
The owners are friendly and helpful and we highly recommend this site.

Stayed here couple weekends ago and the site is spotlessly clean and well cared for and that’s where the good bits end unfortunately.
There’s 1 toilet for 50+ people the toilet is falling through the floor and there may as well be no door on it the gap is that big. unfortunately the showers where not even built yet advertised so the 3 nights we stayed for we had to have a wash in the tent or behind the car. Hard to find a level spot for the tent but we kind of did there is also no one in charge on site the owners live else where. Will we return yes providing more toilets and showers are available.

Squirrel Lodge was beautiful with a hot tub, fire pit and bbq. We loved our holiday here. Highly recommend. The cabin was clean with everything you need. The hosts made us feel very welcome! We went on some lovely walks in the valley nearby. The local pub the Butchers' Arms was fab. We will definitely book to stay here again in the future.
