Decided £31000 for a Fiat was over the top and “no deal to be done”. Kevin, the Salesman, was very keen to sell us the Fiat 500 Hybrid and definitely a deal to be done on them as they had several. As we already owned a Rav 4 Hybrid we were interested. We were taken with the 500 Sports Hybrid in showroom and we were happy with the deal he offered.
The car was advertised with a mileage range of 53.6. We were allowed to take car for a drive on our own - great. We were very interested to see what mileage we could achieve and very pleased to see we slightly exceeded the advertised figure of 53.6.
Kevin had informed us that the car only went onto electric when it was running below 18 MILES PER HOUR. My thoughts were “ok,
At least if we are crawling along in a traffic jam, I will be on electric”. That same day, we part x changed our Smart car, handed over the money and drove away the Fiat at 7pm.
There was no problem with the car, very happy with it but could see nothing on dashboard showing when car was on electric? I bought the car up on Google to discover that it is described as a MILD
HYBRID WITH NO MENTION OF ELECTRIC.
on returning to garage to get my private number plate fitted, I wanted to challenge Kevin as to why he had misinformed us.
It was his day off and I spoke with Manager.
He was adamant that we would not have been informed that the car went onto electric below 18 miles per hour. I said at no time did he say it was a MILD hybrid just described it as a hybrid and if he had given us the true facts we would not have bought it. BUT, I stressed that I was happy with mileage the car was delivering, was not trying to return it, just did not like the way the car had been sold to us. He informed me that the car only moves into electric when I decelerate! He said he would speak with Kevin, on Saturday, when he was back in and HE would ring me personally. I just missed a call Saturday, from Kevin. I immediately rang back to be told he was with a customer and would ring me back. To date, nobody has rung me only the office at Goole who have continuously harassed me trying to sell me a Service Plan, ringing me, on average, twice a day. Even after I put it in writing that I did not wish to enter into the contract, I still received a phone call and had to tell them to stop harassing me.
Such a shame about Stoneacre as I would have been a good Ambassador for them.
On meeting Kevin, we liked him very much but now knowing he did not give us the correct information at time of sale, we would never recommend him.
UPDATE: just received a response to this review from “owner”,
asking me to contact customer relations as he would like a better understanding of my experience. BULL….. My review makes it absolutely clear what my experience was! If the “owner” was at all interested in my experience, he would telephone me to discuss further. If I was the owner of this business, I would be mortified that my salesman was not giving out the correct information on the cars he was selling but, of course, this resulted in a sale for the company which would not have happened if I had been made aware of the facts.
We met Constantin the salesman who showed us around, answered all our questions very professionally. I was still sceptical about the size of the car but once I sat in it all my doubts evaporated, it isn't aVolvo, but still had a lot of room for me and I felt comfortable in it. We ended up buying FIAT 500 Dolcevita plus which is a minor hybrid with all the bells and whistles.
We've had just about 24 hours now, but now I'm finding my way round how it works I love it, glad we have it. My wife has named it Luigi and he already feels like part of the family.
All the staff at Stoneacre were very professional and looked after our every need. It's going to be a while before we need another car but we will go back.
Constantin, if you read this, thank you once again. You really are a credit to your company
