Bespoke last Friday a part exchange to clear. Drove the vehicle home, when reverse parking engine started stuttering. Took it to my local and been there all weekend didn’t want to risk causing more damage. So in a nut shell I bought a car with the following issues that were never mentioned on the ad:
1. The seller cleaned the engine bay so well that each coil had to be removed and dried with a cloth as it was dripping water.
2. The automatic folding mirrors, seller mentioned that they came off the runners and didn’t have time to fix. When in fact they both need replacing and at speed both mirrors fold by itself and flaps!! Imagine changing lanes on the motorway with flapping wing mirrors!!
3. Screen washer pump faulty!! Will not pump water onto the windscreen! Which is an MOT fail!!!
4. No Air con. Maybe need a re-gas!! But who knows maybe it’s faulty!!
5. Breather pipe pierced in two locations - but only a reputable dealer will be aware of this as they would conduct a thorough check.
Total bill so far £80 as my local garage felt sorry for me! Screen washer will get fixed on Wednesday so that is not included as well as the air con! Air con alone if needs more than a re-gas might set me back £400!!
When confronted on the phone seller mentioned his garage report didn’t mention any of the issues above!! Of course the report wouldn’t say so... as there was not one done in the first place!!!
Avoid Bespoke Automotive! Selling cars that aren’t road worthy!! They look showroom clean and that’s about it! Don’t be fooled like I was!! Seriously thinking getting advice from the citizens advise bureau and trading standards!!
They are polite, helpful and well informed. Bought my car at a very fair price considering condition and mileage, couldn't have been a better experience.
I live 200 miles away so when I had a few niggles they went out of their way to help, I received the part I needed the next day and they talked me through fitting and set up.
