After seeing the advert on Autotrader I called them up and asked a bunch of questions about the car which they answered. I asked for pictures of imperfections to the paintwork, Omar (who dealt with me from here on out) did a walk around of the vehicle, pointing out a couple of scuffs and stone chips, and showed me under the bonnet like I asked.
I went there today fully expecting to walk away as my "cautious" head was on.
I checked as many things on the car as I could think off (oil, electrics, air con, brake pads, under chassis inspection, exhaust fumes, lights). Everything was okay. I went for a test drive as well. after this I asked Omar if I could call my friend who knows cars better than me to ensure I had done all I can, he gave me time, and even suggested I did a video call with my friend. Car was fine.
I then questioned them about the warranty that has had some bad reviews on here. I was fully expecting some shoddy "we will sort it if there is a problem" kind of warranty. They use "Autoguard" which is a national warranty service - if you have a problem with the warranty, it's a problem with Autoguard - not the dealership.. I'm well aware that these 3rd party warranty companies can be very picky, but that's always they way with those companies.
All the paperwork was in order, Omar didn't give me a hard sell.. in fact I don't think he even asked me if I was considering buying it.
If there are any problems - I will come back and ammend the review. But as for the experience up to the point of sale, can't fault them at all.
Bought a car from them a few months ago. After just a week or so I noticed a couple of red flags. One being that they clearly covered some scratches up with tinted wax. But i was willing to let it slip for something so small imo.
Recently however, its been having some issues appear out of nowhere so I decided to put it in for a full diagnostic and mechanical check.
Well well, looks like the car was likely crash damaged and covered up prior to the sale. Lots of poorly replaced parts, completely missing parts, and LOADS OF DAMAGE behind the front bumper. Oh, and not to mention the 23 engine management faults that must have been cleared prior to sale to myself.
I am honestly stunned, but its clear that these guys buy cars that need TLC, don't bother fixing it but rather covering it up, then sell it on.
I am now in the process of rejecting the car through my finance company.
BEWARE.
The service from enquiry all the way up to handing the keys over was very smooth and swift.
