These guys are absolutely fantastic. I honestly can’t rate them high enough. They went above and beyond what any other car dealers had done before. There was zero pressure, all the information you could have needed. Owen and Shaun were both exceptional. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a car to drop in and see what they have to offer.

Went in here looking for teenagers car, despite the fact we were right at the bottom end of their market we were treated as a valued potential customer, our salesman, Zac , was superb and even looked on line at other branches for us. Fabulous customer service without being pushy, thank you so much.

This is the worst garage I have ever dealt with.

Cancelled the car within 24 hours of purchase. The sheer hassle, ignorance and outright audacity this garage showed is the reason I’ve left a review.

I dealt with a great salesman Jason, no pressure, polite and when I rang to cancel the car the following morning, he agreed and calmly said he would sort. Great service from him. But the issue arose from his direct boss, who started to put some pressure on, claiming this isn’t an easy process to cancel due to some small finance also being arranged. I challenged this by reading Hendys cancellation policy along with having the finance agreement cancellation terms in front of me at the time. This wasn’t met with the best attitude, and he said he would sort later that very day. I never got a phone call and chased the following days to get the order cancelled. Once cancelled (3-4 days after the original cancellation phone call and email), the manager spent 7 days avoiding my calls, not answering or ringing me back to arrange for my deposit to be returned. Then I contacted the complaints department due to his avoidance. This is when the store manager Shane took charge. I thought this would sort the deposit which it did.

However 6 weeks after cancelling this order and the finance, I was charged the first months instalment anyway.

Prior to this, I did call Shane 6 times over 4 weeks to confirm finance was cancelled and sorted as per their 14 day no question cancellation policy. The attitude from the store manager was I seemed a nuisance to him due toSantander were still saying this wasn’t cancelled and I kept calling him to see if he could sort this out. He was not interested and simply said it will be sorted. However I contacted Santander direct who confirmed the finance had not been paid 5 weeks after official cancellation! This meaning the finance was still in my name and continuing. I phoned Shane every 3/4 days to see if he could speak or sort this out, and I was told it would be sorted.

This felt like a dismal attempt to get me off the phone and my concerns were not taken seriously.

This has now led to more money leaving my bank and now I’m facing the hassle to get this settled 6/7 weeks after I cancelled the initial car WITHIN 24 hours.

I can understand a bad experience, but to have a bad experience met with multiple chances to rectify and even avoidance along with delays of returning deposits, to then raise further and the Store Manager himself also disregard concerns of the finance being cancelled properly, which in fact proved true and now I’m the one penalised for it. Absolutely not what to expect from a garage of this calibre.

If this situation was dealt with properly and rectified in a timely fashion there would be no issue to complain about, but how this has continually been handled is a disgrace, and one I feel is worth mentioning. Being someone who doesn’t tend to leave reviews especially if negative, I felt this could prevent someone else going through the terrible experience I’ve faced from Hendy car store Exeter! Awful from all management at this store! Follow your policies and guidance that you advertise!!!!!

Bought a new car from Owen at Hendy Exeter. The experience was so stress free. They were the least pushy dealership I've ever dealt with, and didn't pressure me into making a decision on whether or not to purchase the car. As it happened, the car was a no brainer for me & was the best spec & price for the car I wanted that I have come across within Exeter (over 8 months of casual browsing) and I could not be happier to have dealt with Hendy. 100% Recommend this dealership, and will be recommending them to friends and family.
