The only thing I was unhappy about was that I was not allowed to keep my private number plate which was disappointing. I was told that the log book was required immediately and that it could take up to 5 weeks for me to retain my plate and they could only guarantee the value of the car if I sold on that day. I offered to pay the fees to retain my plate as it contained both my late parent’s initials along with my own so was sentimental to me but I was told that this was not possible. On hindsight I wish I had delayed the sale of the car. So a bit of advice, if you are thinking of selling your car with a cherished plate, please put it on retention before selling. I checked online with the DVLA when I got home and it says a registration can be put on retention immediately online so I do feel I do feel aggrieved that’s I was told it couldn’t take up to 5 weeks. I feel as if I was sold misinformation by WBAC and I am aggrieved that I have lost my plate forever. As I said service was fine but for the inability for me to retain my plate I am deducting two stars.

This is quoted from the DVLA website, leaves a bitter taste when you are told it takes 5 weeks Any car I have previously sold, I have just paid the £80 to the garage and they have done it for me. Feel like I’ve been conned.

Really nice guys in the Ayr branch, very professional, polite and clearly know what they are doing. Good price given for my car. All done and dusted in about 20 minutes. Overall a very good experience.

A simple easy process that gave a price more than the dealer was offering in part exchange. Like any car of its age, my car had a few minor chips in the paintwork. The degree of deduction from the original headline price because of those chips struck me as being on the high side, and the reasons (amount of work) leading to this deduction were not made clear.
