Halfords Autocentre

Disappointing. My car was booked in for a clutch replacement, which should take less than a day. Five weeks later I am still waiting and my car is at a Halfords 40 miles away. It is, however, the lack of communication which I have found the greatest problem. When I chase the people I speak to are always lovely and try very hard to find information for me, but they struggle as they have been shipped in from other centres. I have been given 4 estimated dates for completion all of which have passed. If you cannot do the work don't take the booking.

Told to have my car there between 8 and 8.30. Car was only going in for a service, rang them up at 11.30. They said car was being done, but it was nearly 4 before I was able to pay and leave the centre. Also went to pay by cash but was told it was card payment only. There was no sign saying you had to pay this way. So am not happy

One star is too much! I had my car booked for an MOT, it failed on minor works,but they said they couldn’t carry out the work that needed to be done because there was no technician available. They said to take it somewhere else and then go back for a retest. I couldn’t book in for a retest until after the MOT expiry date. So I did indeed take it to a local garage who carried out all the work and did a MOT on the same day (Smith Servicing near Wells - brilliant!) ps on a side note; not a big issue but they cut off my air fresheners without asking when they could have just removed them over the mirror! Will never go back!

If your broken down and are.lucky enough to have AA cover. Please do not take your vehicle to this garage. It took almost 2 weeks to repair my car. Lack of communication by both parties. Lack of mechanics??? An absolute farce of a business. You would have better luck trying to fix it yourself. Discraceful customer service, but then again isnt the rest of our countries customer service appalling

Booked at MOT and full service with Halfords Bedminster for 1 October 2022 and they cancelled that morning due to staff sickness. I know lots of garages are struggling with staff at the moment but it was very inconvenient and frustrating.

Booked my BMW in for an MoT as it was one of the few garages with availability. On reading the reviews I was concerned however service on the day was great. Car was tested and ready within an hour, friendly staff and great price.

Very horrible service from unprofessional and unpresentable Pete Fiddes the so called aggressive and rude manager. Deserves a zero in terms of rating, but one is the lowest apparently. What a shame halfords used to be a better company.

Fantastic in all aspects, Pete was amazing from start to finish, very polite, well mannered and professional (helped us with our Renault Kangoo van). Thanks Pete!
