Have used this office many times during the past 5 years always great customer service, quick and efficient. Also applies to the car return.
However this time I wasn't acknowledged when I arrived and just sat waiting for 15 minutes without being spoken to....strange behaviour I thought by the Indian fella.

AVOID. My mother went in on 18th January 2019 to the Hertz on bridge street Northampton. She booked the car through an online rental company for the car deal. On arrival at 11:30am she entered the office there was a man at the desk he never acknowledged her entering, no hello, can I help you... nothing! It was only him working there. From the time she went in he seemed very unwelcoming and unhelpful very hostile to say the least. She explained that she had booked a car and hgave her name and other details to the man. he responded extremely rudely asked her for her drivers license, ID and credit card. His attitude was unprofessional, arrogant and rude. From the time she walked in. This is an absolute disgrace. What kind of customer service is this. She went in for a service and helping the business by using their service and that was the attitude she was met with, this kind of man is ruining the reputation of Hertz. He goes by the name of “chard” disgusting

Booked a reservation for a small van through the call centre over the phone. Arrived at the venue to collect only to be told they have no vans or cars available. The managers attitude was quite alarming. He didn't seem to care and was very unhelpful. Asked about my refund and was told I have to wait 3-5 days. I have previously worked in this field for 10 years as a car hire manager and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Personally, I won't be using that branch again. Just from that experience, it's stained my impression of the entire Hertz franchise.

Terrible service and utterly rude! The Manager an Indian man actually stuck his two fingers up at me when I tried to make a complaint. I honestly thought that I was a victim of you’ve been framed but sadly it was for real. I rent cars on a regular basis and have experience of all the rental companies and Hertz are generally helpful and courteous as I am a Number one gold card holder and have been for many many years. My advice is to stay well away from this branch!

I wish i would've read the 1 star reviews before using HERTZ in Northampton. The obese indian guy now makes sense. Check-in the car late, because the car had to be brought from bedford, while i was being told "system is slow", was hard to understand the guy, because he kept slurping his drink, and answering some random calls, and speaking in a different language . That would be fine, i wouldn't write a review because of this.
However, since i took the car later, because of their fault, i was told that i can return the car next day an hour later a as well (verbally i know.. won't happen again). When i returned the car everyone was smiling, no damages, signed the papers and checked-out the car. Today I found out that apparently i was charged for an extra day and .... empty fuel tank.. nice. Got charged 217£ for this...
OK, Hertz, lesson learnt, won't ever use this company again, and the review rage is just about to start.

I would put a negative score!
They cancelled via text at 21.30 when we were due to collect the van at 09.00 the following morning!!!! No explanation offered!!! It was booked over a week in advance so they've had plenty of time to arrange their fleet.
Totally unreliable and we are disgusted with their lack of courtesy.
This left us trying to book a van at extremely short notice on a weekend.

Dreadful. A large Indian man made an extremely rude hand gesture to my son for absolutely no reason other than my son trying to make a perfectly legitimate verbal complaint about the service. Having read the reviews it seems my son is not the only person who has been abused by this man.

Upon arrival, was told that the vehicle that I had reserved and paid for online weeks prior to rental was unavailable and was offered no explanation as to why. The vehicle offered was smaller but proved sufficient for my purposes. Upon returning the vehicle at the end of the rental, the member of staff at the desk ignored my greeting and offered none in return. Without once speaking, he left his desk and walked downstairs towards the vehicle with me following him, still no talking ! He then proceeded to check the vehicle in silence, barking something to some employees about two small chips on the windscreen (which had been clearly marked on the pre-rental check sheet) He finally walked up and said "ok" and walked off. This turned out to be the branch manager ! Also, it took almost 2 weeks to get my deposit of over £300 back and only because I had to contact my bank to do so. Hertz was the cheapest option in my area and I suppose this is reflected in the standard of service which they provide. Never again !
