Not sure why so many bad reviews. If you can't read the terms before renting the car then it's your fault.

Affordable pricing and one of few companies who trust young drivers with their cars. Also, staff are nice and helpful. Would use again if I had to!

Not the best experience, first booking took 24 hours to get an email telling me my return time was invalid. Booked a second time and got the confirmation 2 days later. Straight away this doesn't fill you with confidence. My actual details for my booking came through the morning of the hire as I was waiting. I had the correct ID but no bank statement. I also forgot my DNA sample and pint of blood. Again poor communication and I was on a time crunch. Also arriving 5 minutes early snd waiting nearly 20 minutes to be seen to with one person on the counter and clearly several round the back. One very loud lady liked to swear alot and was recounting her Friday night out. The gentleman infront of me was having a similar poor experience with the staff not knowing where their return center was in Stratford east London.

The van itself was new and did the job fine.

The return also took some 15 minutes plus just to say yes the van is fine and we have refunded you. Not the best service but the price was ok.

Fantastic hire company. Really friendly helpful staff. Happy to show you round choices of cars after booking. Fantastic car all week. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend and use again!

Service was satisfactory to begin with but eventually after 2 months of renting a vehicle from them which wasn't cheap at all, some of the staff became very rude towards me for no reason at all.
My debit card was charged with unauthorised debits from thrifty that I never received back into my account, also the security team that I was threatened with are extremely rude and one member from the Exeter branch named MARK called me saying he would report the car stolen due to it being a couple of hours late, I'd asked for an extension but due to one of the thrifty staff blocking my debit card through multiple attempts to take money my issuer stopped any money leaving my account for security purposes.
Talking of security, MARK FROM EXETER BRANCH seems to find it quite alright to verbally abuse and swear at me when he called me up.
This sort of behaviour I find very inappropriate and offensive MARK FROM THE SECURITY TEAM IN EXETER, I didn't use any inappropriate language towards you, so when you called ME I was very shocked at your language towards me.
Maybe you should ask to go on a customer service course or possible an anger management program to help you deal with your issues. I spent a few thousand pounds renting from thrifty and just wanted to be treated fairly but unfortunately this didn't happen as I was charged for various problems relating to the vehicle I was driving and also had money stole from my debit card without any explanation.
AVOID THRIFTY CAR RENTAL FOLESHILL IN COVENTRY AND POSSIBLE THRIFTY CAR RENTAL AROUND THE UK AS THEY NEED RE TRAINING IN CUSTOMER RELATIONS ESPECIALLY

MARK FROM THE SECURITY TEAM IN EXETER

Speak to customers with some respect, I suppose being on the other end of the phone you felt invincible
MARK , YOU VERY RUDE LITTLE MAN
ALSO ONE WORD OF ADVICE
I FOUND PAPERWORK FROM PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS THAT WAS LEFT IN MY VEHICLE WHICH HAS SOME DETAILS INCLUDING ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER AND BANK/DEBIT CARD DETAILS OF THE CUSTOMER
THIS USUALLY HAS TO BE KEPT SAFE AND SECURE TO SATISFY ALL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE

DATA PROTECTION ACT
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT MARK
I suppose if you were on the phone to me you tell me to

SHUT MY F*****G MOUTH LIKE BEFORE WHEN YOU CALLED ME.

Enterprise or Avis is a good alternative and cheaper with loyalty rewards for repeat custom

Just to clarify, I had no issues with Maz or the gentleman from Scotland sorry I couldn't remember your name.
The area manager is also very rude and she needs to learn some manners, perhaps hook up with MARK IN EXETER and both of you could be retrained on how to deal and address customers via walk ins and telephone sales

The car was delivered successfully however on returning it the issues started. It was pouring with rain yet I the customer was expected to stand outside whilst the person doing the return complained that it was affecting the tablet she was working with. The check on returning was significantly more thorough that that done when handing the vehicle over - it felt as though they were looking to find something. Upon checking the boot seal (the boot was not used by us) the second person inspecting it (it had already been checked once) pointed out a small nick in the boot seal. The boot was never opened when dropping it off. The company contacted me today to inform me they were charging my credit card with two payments - one of £46 plus an excess charge tbc. I feel as though they were looking to make a charge for anything. Do not use this company unless you are prepared to check every inch of the car on delivery and take photographs to avoid unfair charges.

Very friendly staff and modern fleet. Deposit a little bit on the high side, but got it back very quickly anyway. Definitely recommend.

My wife has worked for boots in Central six for 20 years had a traumatic car accident forgot to register your hire car .she got parking tickets that were quashed because she doesn't pay for parking. But you still ripped her off £100 in administration fees 😒
