Avis Car Hire - Exeter Airport

Only Avis location in the area but if you can, avoid using this location. They've charged me for pre-existing damage a second time on a Heathrow to Exeter rental. It's very hard to get hold of someone to resolve this as there is no direct number to the location and you're stuck on hold for hours to get through to the damage line which is rarely open. I was only able to resolve the previous time after several months and getting the credit card company involved. The staff when I have picked up from the location are pleasant and helpful however their cars are not great either; the first one I was given had been smoked in and the second one was not very clean.

Zoe is an absolute credit to your team. I had a situation on Sunday evening when the office was closed and stupidly locked my phone in the car. Zoe had to deal with my frantic calls this morning and has gone above and beyond to get it all sorted, even though she’s been rushed off of her feet on her own. I'm very grateful that such a lovely genuine person has been dealing with me as I'm not sure many people would care quite as much.

Collection of the car was easy, everything was explained well and Zoe was friendly and professional despite having to deal with a rude customer raising his voice at her before seeing us. We added an additional driver on the day, which was again quick and easy. There was also a massive queue behind us, with just one person dealing with them all! I really hope you manage to keep hold of her Avis, as there are not many people working in Customer Services that are the same calibre anymore.

Our Agent Emma was incredibly helpful and the price was reasonable for a single day's hire, although it cranks up if you want a reasonable excess insurance charge. The great thing is I was in my car and on my way in less than 10 minutes after the plane touched down

Avis service for renting a car is quite convenient & economical. Also, shout out to the agent Ms Zoe (at the Exeter airport) for her superb customer handling!

There is always a lot to take on board when renting a car for any length of time,so important for the providers to keep things as simple and as clear as possible. I believe that Budget got this pretty well right beforehand. I appreciated all that the company rep did on the day of the handover to enable a smooth process, but there still seemed a lot to handle and process in a short rapid time slot.

As a long standing member of Avis the check in process is very quick so there is no waiting around filling in forms. I have never had a bad customer experience when visiting the desk to collect a vehicle. Cars are always extremely clean and smell fresh. I would only ever hire from another firm if Avis were not present at the rental destination.
