Thrifty Car and Van Rental Ipswich

My daughter hired a car here. Very efficient and excellent discount for booking on line. No quibble with her annual hire car excess policy. Car was Hyundai i10 which is very good economy option that Thifty have. 5 door rather than many other 3 door.

Nice car. Collect and return was fairly prompt though they seem to need more paperwork than other rental companies. Staff were friendly and walked me through the features of the car. £500 deposit was actually taken, not just reserved on my credit card but refunded the day I returned the car. I will be happy to use again.

Location out of town is not convenient. You need a taxi to get there and another one to go back to town after your rental. This adds to the cost.
The deposit "company refund policy" is that you wait 5 opening days to get refunded. Just a Question: What justifies it?
Altogether, a not so smooth experience

Took them 5 mins to come serve me. Seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Wanted a £500 deposit!!! No other hire company asks that much. (They did say they could lower it for £11.50 A DAY!)

First and last time I will be hiring from them. 🤬

Probably the best hire van I have had from any hire company, drop off was at the arranged time and date, great service, especially welcome after my awful recent experience with EUROPCAR (see my other reviews)

Extremely expensive for a van.
Wanted £750 deposit and £200 per day!
Wanted so much ID including bank statements. Unfortunately their lack of communication forced us to cancel as their requirements didn’t suit our schedule so they lost a sale.
Cheaper and easier places in the area without the need for credit checks...

Booked a car to be dropped off to my house on Sunday and never turned up! Meaning I missed my flight back to work, couldn’t get hold of anyone whatsoever! As I am in the forces I have now had to explain to my boss why I have miss the deployment Ipswich branch you should be ashamed!

Get a quality hire car or van at reasonably priced,beware of the clauses with regards to fuel etc,especially any damage.with the age of the super camera and social media,l would film the whole car for damage prior and after.lnsurance premium could work very very expensive
