Leaving a review specifically for the European lady on the desk at Newport Road. She managed to upgrade my car to an auto with no notice and nothing was too much trouble. Even came and said hello to my dog. Very pleasant experience all round I would definitely use you again

I have 2 points to make:
1. I don’t think I should be charged an extra day’s rental when I returned the car on time - at 9.50 am before the stipulated 10am on 15 July 2022. The staff receiving the car was friendly and pleasant but he was alone receiving cars and he churned out the inspection report only at 10.20am. I don’t think this is a fair trade practice to charge me an extra day rental.

2. When I first went to EuropCar Cardiff Roath to pick up the car on 11July at 9am, I was early by 1 hr. The staff handling me tried to upsell me a higher grade car at 60GBP (360 GBP), by saying my car was not ready. So I said I would wait till 10am. Only then he offered me another (slightly better) car. He did remind me to return the car by 10am 15 July which I did. Quite an unpleasant experience dealing with him.

Blonde lady who worked there was very rude and harassed me. Van was late being ready for collection because the guy getting it ready was stood round on his phone texting. If other way round they would have charged me loads. I was pressured into buying excess cover and I felt vunerable. I don’t think I have it in me to rent a car ever again. If I we’re you I’d go to enterprise. You deffo pay for what you get

Terrible customer service. Was promised a refund for a cancelled booking. A month later, no refund and now europcar are saying they can't find my booking and I shouldn't have been told the refund would be made. Avoid

Had a courtesy car through them due to be returned. They hadn't contacted me at all about collection arrangements so I tried to drop the key to them as i would be at work, their letter box is sealed up and no labelled key drop off box. Called them at 8:30am to let them know and they want to charge me for "cancelling" a collection. Absolutely appalling customer service, with rude sales staff. Their lack of contact about collection arrangements does not constitute a charge to me. They informed me they have a key drop off point, when i took the keys to the branch later in the day, its a grey box with no markings several meters from the main door, definitely would not be posting car keys through that. Would not recomend.

I was initially annoyed with Europcar Roath, as I made a booking on Friday afternoon around 4pm for a van. I recieved a message saying that my booking could not be confirmed for up to eight working hours. Saturday came and went, nothing, Sunday I tried calling customer services and they couldn't tell me anything. It was on monday morning itself that I actually had confirmation that they had a suitable vehicle for me. When I initially booked, I HAD to know whether I was getting the vehicle, in this case a van, on monday morning as I would have been using it in the course of my work, and by me not knowing it would in effect cancel out two days earning for myself. Thankfully, my work commitments changed on the monday morning so having the van or not was not really going to be an issue, so I went and picked the van up anyway. I was annoyed at the lack of confimation over the weekend, it seemed like all administration stopped during saturday and sunday, and I was also annoyed by them taking my money immediately from my account when they couldnt even tell me that they could provide a vehicle on the specified day/time. However... I am writing this review because the tall, dark haired lady that works on the front desk and deals with the customers was absolutely lovely, helpful, and a credit to both herself and her job/employer, and I feel it only correct to give this lady some recognotion for her efforts.

Staff are very friendly and happy to help. I've been renting for the last 4 years with them and enjoy VIP elite status on their rewards system. Really good cars and best price amongst all.
