We were billed £250+ for the works and she took the car home after the garage told her it was all fixed. Pricey, but acceptable given the circumstances.
Since picking up the car we have experienced issues, warning lights and sluggish performance. It was not until her father looked under the bonnet that he found one of the pipes was not connected.
After returning it today the garage, there was no real apology or acceptance of liability.
I am appalled that my wife was able to drive a car away which had my two young daughters in the back, which quite evidently was unsafe to drive.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Got a call to say what time my recovery would arrive & I asked if it could be earlier & no problem.
Nick, my recovery technician was polite & courteous throughout.
Less than half price of other local companies.
God forbid I have to be recovered again but if I do, I know who I'm calling first.
I would not recommend this garage as they overcharge. I also got a quote for a full service which was quoted for £266 which I then phone up a name dealer to compare prices the manufacturer of my vehicle was £30 cheaper than this independent one.
I recently purchased a 2nd hand car and realised the glow plugs were not working as well as they should, so I took the car to L&M.
I asked them to ascertain the cause of the extended turnover period, this started with a (£55) for diagnostics.
They initially advised the Glow Plugs and battery needing replacing, at £100 for the battery alone, I asked them to replace just the spark plugs.
They contacted me again to advise the battery should be replaced first, but as the engine was turning over fine I reiterate, I had a limited budget and that I would prefer to have just the plugs changed first.
They kept my car for 3days (+ the weekend) and advised they were unwilling to remove ANY of the spark plugs, and that I would need to agree to pay for a specialist before they would try (in case they broke) to which I said I don’t have the additional funds, so they charged for 1hr labour.
I would have accepted the £63 as an overall charge (diagnostic and glow plug checks, lubrication spray(£8)) but £160 feels excessive!!
I had my car with them, with a clutch problem.Their diagnosys was : failing master clutch cylinder. They fixed it for £416 and they told me the car was tested and it`s ALL OK.
On my way home, gues what?My car broke down again with the same issue : clutch pedal to the floor.
I don`t really know how they tested the car before release??
