Hassle free booking always return e mails promptly reference pricing and queries, (Katie - Reception)
I'm very glad I have used this company and will continue to do so.
None of this fuss and nonsense that I always endure at the dealership, having to wait just to handover or pick up keys and being kept waiting for ages just so someone can try and up-sell other services.
I just wish I'd come across 4 Rings Ltd before now but will certainly use them again without hesitation.
As a first timer, I been there twice within a month. Would I go there again? Definitely!
I came across 4Rings on an online forum and it has great reviews and Dean (the main mechanic/owner) was a former Audi dealer mechanic from what I understood.
I used 4Rings very recently over my usual trusted garage as I had a climate control issue (the driver side temperature was only blowing cold air). After some online research, i thought it best to go to Audi specialist as it may involve some specialist knowledge of the Audi brand with an Audi specific diagnostic software to do a 'basic resetting' of the replacement part to the vehicle.
Location is good - just off the A2 in Dartford, around 30min walk from a train station, based in an industrial estate with dedicated parking.
The receptionist is very helpful and pleasant - not like the dealers who can come across a little rude and unhelpful. The only negative is that I tried calling a few times and no one answered, but nothing else to complain about.
It would also be great if they invested a little in the customer reception waiting area to make it a bit more comfortable - totally fine if you are waiting there for a 15 minutes, but not great if waiting for a longer period - again nothing major, just nit picking.
In terms of the service, I booked in the car to be diagnosed (hooked up to the diagnostic software system) to try an narrow down the fault. Online it's quoted as £72, but it's actually £84 - they need to update price on their website. I'm not sure if the other service prices on the site are accurate or need updating.
The fault was diagnosed, part ordered and re-booked for after the New Year.
Dean called to inform me that apparently replacing the part in question going by the official workshop manual isn't easy/straightforward and stated it should be around 6-8 hours. He explained the fault in detail and the process involved to replace it in a simple & clear manor and the options on how to proceed - they don't do any work until the customer gives the go ahead, which is important.
Dean did explain that they maybe a potential to replace the part without removing parts as per the workshop manual saving 4-6 hours labour, but it wasn't a guarantee and could potential cause other problems due to the tight fit under the dash to get to he part and remove it.
Again Dean explained the options in a clear manor with the potential risks involved and worst case scenario in terms of time and cost should anything go wrong.
I decided to give him the go ahead to try the short cut method and it turned out to be a success, only spending 2.5 hours labour removing the lower dash panels on the driver side, instead of a major strip out of the whole dash etc (6-8 hours), so as you can imagine I was very happy to have saved hundreds of £'s!
4Rings isn't the cheapest mechanic/garage but you are paying for excellent service, from the receptionist to the mechanics/owner and from my experience an honest company who don't try to overcharge the customer for unnecessary work.
I can't understand why the franchise dealers can't provide this level of service at a reasonable price!, but their loss is 4Ring's gain!
So just to finish off, highly recommended, great service and would recommend 4Rings over an Audi dealership without hesitation!
