Albion’s Hand Car Wash Ltd - Hand Car Wash & Valeting Centre

I am still super confused and I gave myself a few days before writing this review. So I went to see these guys a few days ago, this was my first experience with them (and last).

I asked these guys to give me their 'inside out wash' service. One of their chaps, a big guy, brother of the owner (he told me), explained very nicely what they would be cleaning. Super nice guy, hence my confusion about this. He said they would wash the mats/shampooed, dried, full vacuum, door marks to be taken off, dashboard to be wiped, door sil etc. And fully dried all around + washed on the outside. I paid £20 which is not bad at all in theory, in this case fully wasted. I don't have the habit of watching experts doing their job - there were three grown man in the mid thirties to forties working on the car. I was occupied with my phone and when they said they were done, I paid and drove off.

As I got home, I realised the below

1. All mats were drenched. I took them all in to dry (they were so drenched each mat had a puddle of water under it by the morning - honest truth).

2. Car doors still had the same marks.

3. The fabric under the Mats were NOT vacuumed at all.

4. The trunk was never even opened it seems (but since they didn't mention they would vacuum it, I don't mind it, even though that's strange too).

5. The rear car seats were not vacuumed.

6. The windscreen inside was cleaner before I went there - I keep window wipes in the car and regularly clean all windows myself.

So none of the above would have been a total deal breaker either, as long as they would have fixed it - since its an easy fix. I drove straight after work the next day. I was already slightly frustrated having spent time on this, when I really shouldn't be, but I made a point to not be disgruntled at all, as long as they fix it this time - things go wrong, I have Retail businesses myself - especially during COVID 19 etc - believe me, I was super friendly and considerate.

I confront them - the brother of the owner claims I made the car unclean myself - owner is there too, tells me off - everyone giving me very hostile vibes. They do not believe the mats were drenched, door marks - etc. They constantly spoke very harshly and loudly in a foreign language. They do a quick vacuum clean, but that's it.
One of the chaps time was holding a lit cigarette in one hand while picking up something off the rear mat. The owner then asks me if I'm happy with the result. I look at the doors - point out the super obvious marks - then look at the back, find peanut shells - very obviously located on the rear seats - but owner says no point cleaning the marks as they will just come back again(?! -
I know now, this isn't true. I cleaned all doors with 2 microfiber towels and a basic washing up liquid. The marks were soil marks - and of course didn't come back.

I felt horrible being treated this way - owner clearly said I was trying to con them to vacuum my car a second time. Which is ridiculous.

After all of this, I still had an unclean car and on top of that wasted even more of my time, having wasted my money.

I messaged Arkley Hand Car wash, they were very responsive - asked me to bring in the car. However, I was so put off, I just cleaned it myself this time. I will try Arkley Hand Car wash in the future. I will never return to these guys however. Huge let down - I wish I never went.

I didn't like the treatment they had on my car was horrible. The worst thing is that if a Mercedes or suv came along they had a different treatment to my car they didn't even dry it and that means you can't work 15 pounds for not doing anything sincerely I won't go there anymore

Brilliant service I have used this car for many years now and what makes me put up this review is I've just got a brand-new Mercedes Benz it's got dirty as it does on the way these guys I've cleaned it looks brand spanking new exactly why I come here every time

Very popular and always have queues. This doesn't necessarily rush them which is annoying when you're waiting, but when it's your car being done, you're happy. Drying the car could be better. Been there few times and water marks left in the body work.

Regularly have my car washed here. Always get a nice welcome and smile, and the team remember things about how you prefer to have your car washed i.e. if not to use a specific product

Despite the fact they have provided a relatively good cleaning service, some of the guys working there are light fingered and monies in my coin tray has gone missing. On the one occasion I noticed just before I left, I challenged them and the more senior chap (who has been there a while) swiftly returned the money one of the colleagues took.

I would have put this down to a one-off however this has now happened twice suggesting a pattern of behaviour, hence the 1 star review. I no longer use their service and would not recommend

Has to be the worst car wash service there is. We payed £25 for windows in and out to be cleaned wind screen and inside. After the car smelt purely of cat urine and the windows where foggy and couldn’t see through and won’t come off. Went back there and the guy said that the smell is coming from the floor mats as they are wet and he was certain. Felt them and they where dry. He also said and was being very rude that we payed for what we got and all they did was wipe the car with a filthy cloth. Wouldn’t recommend.

Just got my car washed here for the first time - inside and out- really excellent & thorough job with attention to detail. Fair price. Well done guys. Thank you.
