Retford Hand Car Wash

In the past we have used this facility and been happy. However yesterday we left our vehicle with them for a mini valet.

When my wife collected it, she duly paid and then on getting in to the car got a shock to find that she could not see clearly our of three of the windows. It seems that whoever did the internal valet managed to get a waxy substance on to the glass which they clearly couldn’t get off. It is in patches right across three windows and has also contaminated the tops of the internal doors.

The manager/ owner never mentioned any thing about this but simply took my wife’s money and handed her the keys. He dismissed her request for an explanation.

Upset she drove the car home, and I then visited them to try and get a satisfactory resolution. When challenged the manager who was disgruntled from the outset, said they had not used anything on the glass. Obviously they do use some sort of glass cleaner which he seemed to overlook. Anyway, no apology, No acknowledgment of their error. No offer to put it right. Quite simply to quote him ‘we’ve done our best’ and that was it. When I mentioned that we had a legal obligation to not only look after our vehicle but to carry out the contracted work in a satisfactory manner, he simply sniggered and then blamed us for leaving it with them when they were so busy. He was rude, discourteous and totally lacking in any sort of responsible manner.

Our car is an upmarket beautiful vehicle and now has to be taken elsewhere at our expense to have the damaged glass restored as it requires specialist chemicals to remove the waxy residue.

I have taken internal photographs of the damage but they don’t really capture the full extent of the work required.

Be aware that if you do use this facility and something goes wrong, they will not take any responsibility let alone be reasonable with you. My advice would be to always stay within your vehicle and do not trust them to carry out internal valeting work. You have been warned.

This place has wrecked my car. The bonnet and roof are scratched to pieces. Its as though they dipped a sponge in broken glass or grit to clean it. I believe this was because he told me it was £25 to wash and hoover my car. Manager came to speak to me and unhappy i queried the price. Got home and saw the awful scratches on my car, thousands of them but I had left the forecourt.
Not happy at all and will cost me over £1k to get put right! Going to trading standards.

Took my car in on a day then they're not too busy..did a good job but they do tend to rush it ..not sure whether it's to help the customer or to get the job done & out as quick as possible.

Really good service. The lads there got to work straight away. Did a great job and the car was clean and gleaming afterwards. Great price too.

They damaged my paint work on my BMW rang them and explained I wasn’t happen even with the clean still marks all over the vehicle where they had missed places. I took the car down to be face with 3 men getting in my face yelling at me to the point I had to push one man away so he was out of my face. Shocking service and will be contacting trading standards and taking the matter further because of there actions they’ve not even offered to refund the so called wash.
