Small but atmospheric ruin of a 12th century castle.

The accompanying Haverfordwest Town Museum located in the old prison governor's house is a hidden gem. Nice to see a museum that uses a lovely old building. Exhibits include one of the original prison cell doors, lots of photos of the town's past and information about the castles history. Helpful staff. Worth a potter.

Same as with Swansea, Newport or Neath Castles those are just remains, empty shell making some sort of landmark. Not much to see apart of panoramic views what gives a bit more to experience and additional building of Town Museum

Not much of the castle, but an interesting place to stop off. Especially if the museum is open.
Biggest issue: no easy nearby parking. The nearest car park needs a permit, and the next nearest is tiny (always full!) and down a hill with a steep path. So not great accessibility wise, but not the worst.

This is a castle that has had a hard life going by that fact that there is not a lot of it left to see. As with all castle's of this age it is in a commanding position in the tow, at one of the highest point and the views from it are great. Entry to the castle is free and there are carparks near to it, though you have to pay. There is on site parking for the less mobile as the climb from the carparks is a work out. There is a museum on site, I did not look at this so I don't know what it is like, there are also some information boards around the castle that do give you an idea of just what this castle has had to put up with. Worth a look if in town, even if it's just for the views of the surrounding area.

Whilst we adored the museum and were fascinated by the castle itself, the litter was just too much and there was broken glass everywhere.

Seems something is to be done, if this letter is in date. Hopefully that something comes sooner rather than later.

An historic building that has stood there from the test of time. Can't give you a full description or information about the castle, but it gives you a splendid view across the town of haverfordwest. It's worth a visit.
