Manager dealt with the complaint fairly and resolved the matter.
Largest tech display is phones but there's plenty of laptops, consoles, accessories and some retro games out too.
Staff are polite.
The only gripe I have is the qué that blocks the doorway when busy.
I always keep my items in immaculate condition and always have the box, cables, manual, everything. As such, I have always received the top 'A' grade price for my trade-ins.
However, I today traded in a pair of headphones which were less than a year old and, as usual, in perfect condition. As in not a mark on them. Box perfect. All accessories perfect condition. And I was offered....'B' grade?! Price between A and B was hardly any different but that's not the point here. I asked why B grade and I was told because it's 'used'. Ridiculous argument when pretty much everything being traded in at your shops is used. And I've always always received A in the past, over many years. Every single one of those trade ins had (of course) been used.
I wish I'd just bashed up the box a little or bent one of the cables a bit more now, on principle. I would say I'll make sure to do that next time, but after this, there won't BE a next time. Will use eBay, give to friends or even give my old products to charity in future rather than use this company again, and I will also be contacting their head office to query this matter further.
Don't ever expect to get A grade trade-in price if you get the member of staff I did today. If they continue like that, they'll lose a lot more customers. Anyway, the ongoing disc to digital changeover in games and movies will destroy their business over the next few years. After today, that thought makes me happy.
Good riddance CEX, and don't bother with any mealy mouthed, fact-altering reply either. If you do, I'll post this on five more review sites than I already have.
If I was not on the ball with checking settings someone could have easily missed the fact they had been Mis sold a phone. I couldn’t be refunded at the time as my details were still on the phone so it will take around 3 separate trips in total to get a refund which will take days.
The que system in the store is abysmal. How hard can it be to have a designated till for simple game purchases and a separate till for phones / consoles / tablets which take more time.
This is my first and last dealing with the shop. I am disgusted that a high street store can advertise certain model of phones for sale and sell you a different model. It’s just not good enough.
