Nice refurbished library.
However in the summer it gets too hot and where we used to have air-conditioning in the children's area now it gets too hot and they find it difficult to enjoy the library.
Love the plethora of new facilities but the space to sit upstairs is more limited than before. Downstairs feels too dull and uninspiring for a person to sit and study.
Love the community room and the various events that are organised.
There is parking but is limited.
Also there is a beautiful array of books for children and adults.

The library itself is asthetically pleasing after being renovated however, its design and layout is appalling. The majority of space is taken up by computer seating which cannot be utilised for studying as per Enfield’s ridiculous rules. This leaves very little space to actually do your work. Ontop of this, there is an open childrens area which does not make it suitable for silent study. The only other option is to sit on the uncomfortable and cramped high chairs on the side (once again minimal) or go to the community area downstairs (which is not really a silent study space). How anyone thought, high chairs/bar stools would make for comfortable seating is beyond me.

The staff are helpful but could be more polite. Whilst it is understandable they are there to enforce the rules, a little kindness and understanding does not hurt.

There can certainly be more done to improve this library especially to support the adolescent community of enfield. It is often forgotten that some young people do not have access to the internet, or a quiet space to study and so the library is the only option. If the Enfield council are not accommodating (ie. Lack of study areas) then that to me is a waste of my council tax and taxes in general. Staff should be mindful of this and where possible feedback the information they receive to better the space for everyone as opposed to taking things personally.

My younger sibling went to the library for the first time to study for her GCSE examinations. She utilitised the computer for an hour as per the rules, and was subsequently asked in a rude tone (by a staff member) to leave the computer area. She had explained there was no other seating available and asked whether it would be possible to stay at the desk as she was the only person say at the computer space. The staff member was adamant that she move and so she did. Whilst the staff member was simply doing her job, it is perhaps these situations (which I presume happen on a regular basis) that should prompt change.

The tables are laying there empty not being utilised by anyone and really there should not be an issue. It is understandable if it was busy or perhaps there were other’s waiting. However, this was certainly not the case.

So i ask palmers green library to take this as formal complaint/cause for concern (i too will contact them) and act upon it or feed it back to the relevant department. I have simply left it here as a timestamp to see whether change is actually made in the future.

Love this library. Free parking. Lots of computers available with staff always willing to help. Photocoping facilities available here too. Modern interior, covering 2 floors. Comfy chairs and tables to work on. Excellent children's section, with a huge range of children's books.

Books can be renewed online. Plus the library sends out a reminder email when your books are due in. Perfect!

Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Check out their weekly and holiday timetables for events and activities for children.

As libraries go, this one is pretty good. Very helpful staff. Good selection of books, computers, scanners and printing service too.

Excellent library service. If they haven't got the book that you require the enfield libraries website has a great ordering facility.

Decent clean library, not enough studying tables. Noise wise; it’s not a library it’s a playground with all the kids running around the library. Extremely loud, impossible to concentrate.

The library is amazing but the noise because of the kids and mums talking to each other like they were in a café is not great. Children area should be separated. It is not always noisy but you never know!!!
