Fluent Chimneys

Do not touch with a chimney sweep brush! We asked for a stove to be installed, which involved knocking out a blocked up fireplace, placing a stove and liner in and then rendering the fireplace to a descent standard. What we got was an offset open fireplace (he didn't even centre it!), bad plastering that had to be done twice, an oak mantle that was badly installed and covered in woodworm and pretty much an overall finish that was very poor and amateur like. He also had no respect for our property, with throwing the cups of coffee we'd given him on to the front of the house (the walls were freshly painted too!). On top of that he was late everyday and communication with him wasn't easy. Once I complained he reduced the invoice but it doesn't make up for the poor work which will now have to be corrected. Not what you want just before Christmas! Avoid at all costs!

We had a stove quote about 8 weeks ago and have just had it installed.
We decided to have the opening knocked out and enlarged, rendered internally and plastered externally.
Really pleased with the result.
We paid £1850 plus vat.
Can wait for it to get cold !
