Empire Palace

Wonderful lunch menu - with plates of food which were so tasty. I especially loved the sea bass, mushrooms, duck in pancakes and duck and lamb in lettuce. Noodle dishes and spicy sizzling beef - all beautiful. Toffee apples and banana with ice cream to finish - with an after eight chocolate with coffee before we found our good fortune in a cookie. My fortune was very wise. Hours of eating - where did the time go? Thank you all x

I was last had something to eat here, was some thirty years ago when I used to stay in Danbury, I'm glad to say the food is just as great as I remembered. Even down to the spare ribs. Very welcoming as ever. I'm glad I took my family thier to try the food.

Although the food was ok it was almost cold despite the candle powered warming trays. The restaurant was busy and I guess that wasn't anticipated because the service was so slow . The take away is really good and that's why I thought a sit down meal would be good. A big disappointment I will stick to take away in future.

Usually the Empire Food is great and their ribs are the best, however after last nights takeaway, we will give them a miss for a while, not a good takeaway.

Beauitful and authentic chinese food from all parts of China

The visit to the Empire was limited to collecting a Takeaway but that did not prevent the food being up the high standard we have always enjoyed there.
This will be the only time I have anything sour to say about the Empire. I was told by the great staff there the business is to permanently close in September. That is the saddest possible news for the Empire has for many years served up high quality food which, along with its close proximity to home,, never left us wanting. Their Chinese New Year Banquets have always been eagerly awaited and now they are to be no more. The saddest possible news!

Went last night, as always fantastic food, such a shame it will shut Monday night.

As always Tommy you made us feel welcome as did the rest of your staff.

Was the best chinese in Chelmsford. But after last night takeaway was disappointed. Ordered beef black bean sauce extra spicy,chicken satay and egg fried rice. But food was almost tasteless, beef was with table spoon of black been sauce with brocoli and peppers and not spicy at all,no chillis were find.
