The Old Street Chinese Restaurant

A nice local Chinese restaurant. Rich menu with variety of dishes. Over priced and with low value for money. The dishes are medium/small then what you expect and prices are higher than the average dish. The place is nice and with typical Chinese decorations. Basic cleaning.

I’m impressed by the food.
The menu has a wide range and includes some authentic dishes which you rarely see in other restaurants.
The food are tasty and I really enjoyed the spicy sour green bean noodles.
However, like other reviewers said, the dishes came in small portion which made the meal expensive.
Staff are friendly and the restaurant is busy with take away orders since we entered

It used to be one of my favourite Sichuan restaurants but I was bitterly disappointed in my last visit…. Food was really too salty…. I hope it was just one of these ‘off’ days for the chef 🥲🤞

It used to be reasonably good 5 years ago when the portions were OK and tastes were So So, hence a place to meet up with friends at reasonable budgets …… Now that it is poor value for money I’d not recommend to anyone.

Great hot pot, it is done all you can eat buffet style with you choosing how much of each option you want. Come hungry as the portion sizes were massive! The spicy hot pot was particularly tasty and we enjoyed the sauce section. The staff were attentive.

Rich menu but thankfully we didn’t order too much coz those dishes were not cheap and the portions were rather small. On a side note, staff were very friendly.

I’ve been here twice now and had a pleasant visit both times! I do not where the negative reviews on here come from! Really pleased with the presentation and flavours of the food. The menus are big with pictures to help you decide what you want. Food came very quick. I do think the AC could be turned down a little bit. Overall very good visit and I will be back !
