China Express

A friend told me of a place in this town that sold some good silver spoons. Didn't find that, but I did find China Express. Fantastic. So rare to find a Chinese take away that offers the all food you probably know but then takes it one step further with homemade twists. The chef I think just like playing with flavours... The plum sauce on the fried chicken wings was a total hit.. I love that sauce! All great food and if you're in the area, go try it... My own town could do with some of their recipes :)

Heard good reviews of the food since the new management, so tried going back. Very pleased with my Crispy shredded chili beef and Salt n Pepper chips. Been back quite a few times since. Cash only folks though just as a heads up.

Got my order wrong I told her that was wrong and she insisted that it wasn’t. Also charged for praw crackers but it’s says it’s free in order over £10. I do not recommend!

Got my order completely wrong. Food I did eat was awful and as a result I was off work the next day with stomach problems. Think the hygiene standards need improving and an urgent visit from the health inspector. AVOID this place unless you enjoy spending time on your toilet!

I am sad to say that the food has deteriorated as the cook has changed, the food has lost its flavor.

Do not recommend unless you like greasy food and poor customer service. Ordered Vegetable Spring Rolls and Hot & Sour soup, not knowing there was two options (for the soup). Received exactly that but not the vegetarian option I was expecting. Didn't like this place before due to the grease but thought I'd try them again for a change, never again will I go there under current management. After a cold walk home, tucked into the food, spring rolls dripping with oil, had a taste of the soup, looking at what looked like chicken being told by my friend that it must be a bamboo shoot or something similar, no it was meat. Haven't had meat for three years, now I had digested it. Phoned them up to speak to the manager to see what they could offer before making up my mind on this business. The conversation was confirmed with the man who took my order, yes it was what I asked for and I did get questioned at the time of placing an order if I would like the veggie spring rolls or not however it would've been nice to of been offered this when ordering the soup. The manager offered to replace it if I brought it back which I declined due to not wanting to face the cold and feeling disturbed from shopping with them. The lady ended the phone call by saying "Okay, bye" and that was it. No offer of a refund, just took my cash.

As a vegetarian looking at the menu, I wouldn't think to see if there was a meat option never mind understand what half of it contains. To know I've consumed meat, is very disturbing and has put me right off any other food for the night, chicken flesh in my teeth, yum.

Poor customer service, greasy food, yuck! Better off supporting other businesses with better quality food. Best part of a fiver gone.

Food was lovely. Took longer than advised to be ready but only by about 10/15mins. Otherwise no complaints. Would absolutely go again and would recommend.

This review is not about the food! Do not use the Facebook page for China Express in Barnoldswick as when you have ordered and paid it is in Nelson!
I have spoke to both take away and Barnoldswick say they don’t have a face page but are aware it’s misleading, the manager refused to talk to me and the person who answered the phone was aware of this but the manager isn’t bothered!
As I was picking the food up Nelson was too far to go at 11 miles away! They didn’t care either! The food was disgusting!!
