New Oriental City

I ordered a walk-in takeaway on a busy Saturday evening. It was very busy but the staff member was very helpful and apologetic that I had to wait.

I confirmed my order and she repeated it back to me to make sure I hadn’t missed anything.
I waited just over 20 minutes and went back inside to collect. There are some seats to wait on but as I had only parked outside, it was easier to return to my car. There is space outside for about 6 cars and some more on street parking is available round the corner.

My order was piping hot and exactly the quality I’d expect from here. We ordered crispy beef with carrots, Singapore chow mein, egg fried rice and vegetable spring rolls. We finished it all off (pigs I know!) and no complaints at all.

They do not accept card payments for orders under £12 and whilst this didn’t effect me, I can appreciate it would annoy some people.

We have been using this restaurant for some time it has always been good until tonight. The duck dish ordered was OK but the sweet and sour dish was luke warm and not very enjoyable as the peppers in it were hard and raw. It was delivered very quickly so I don't understand how it could have been so cold.

Very understaffed phone to order and answered phone can I wait 4 mins waiting whole one person was taking orders on another phone. I arrived at shop with someone in front of me other phone ringing again answers phone ignoring customers. I explain she should serve people in front of her and how she had left me still on phone while trying to take another order. She tried to make excuse she was answering me next but I was spread in phone. If you are that busy you should really employ someone else to answers phone and not get one person to serve and shower 2 phones at once very badly ran

Its a good Chinese take-away. Closes at 21:00 so good for early take away, not the friendliest of people, but efficient and good food so forgivable, do brilliant fish and chips. Chili/salted chips are to die for, nom nom

Used too love this place. But very disappointed, the chap on the phone was rude, food wasn’t great this evening I’m afraid. The only good thing about this was the lovely delivery driver. Such a shame

Food is good. Can't complain but service could be better. Find it an awkward atmosphere in there ordering and waiting! Like I've just spent £40 on chinese at least be nice to me not make me feel you want me out the door asap!🤣🤣

Once again the staff were rude. The white guy is great as is the young chinese lady. However , the older chinese ladies are usually surly and one was downright rude tonight. They are clearly understaffed , one person normally answering the phones and dealing with waiting customers. The lady tonight raised her voice at me trying to make a point which is comical given the huge screen and her covid mask.Wished everyone else an enjoyable meal - I thanked her very much when I received mine but no eye contact and no words spoken. Fed up with this reception as a regular - going elsewhere.

Really well prepared dishes. Well worth the wait to get an order placed in, the phone was pretty busy on Saturday at 17 and it took me a couple of times to get trough but once you got a hold it is an excellent service. We ordered and it came to us within 60 minutes. The satey sauce is excellent and well spiced. I myself had the prawns with green pepper and black bean sauce as the main dish and it was the best I had in years.
