Matalan

Great store. Prices are reasonable but not ultra cheap. Clothes are good quality though. Ive bought a range of clothes from shirts to jumpers shoes kids clothes etc. All good stuff. Staff are friendly and polite. Waiting times at the till are around 5 minutes at most usually. Parking in the area is good i always find a space and it's local to a lot of other shops in Erith shopping centre. A point to note for the store but doesn't affect customer experience is the lift is in major need of a spruce up as looks old and tatty but very minor thing.

This particular store did not have any extra small, size 6 (xs) size women's clothing on the rails which is pretty poor, so really hope store management read this post and make a change.

Used to love coming to this Matalan store, the staff in there are nice and mostly helpful but I didnt enjoy my last experience at all, I cant believe there are no fitting rooms and you have to scan the items and remove the security tags yourself!
I had a rare day off work midweek and wanted to try on some holiday clothes, I've had to buy some hoping they fit and that I dont have to go through the hassle of coming back to return the items on the weekend when the store will be busier. Plus I was stressing that I might miss a security tag on the clothes.

Today we went to buy something for kids and it’s was 50 percent so it cost 20 at the till but on all toys price was 10 pounds so they keep telling is 20 but it was 20 so all boxes stayed 10 like claiming 50 percent on box 10 pounds but in till 20 even menager said s 20 but in all box says 10 avoid so rude unprofessional staff rubbish

evry time price is high instead how is on item staff do arogant and menager reachel so rude she dont respect or speak nice to costumers such a shame it was one of my favorite shops rubisg

Matalan Erith where staff endeavour to provide no service at all. Serve yourself of just experience a reluctant (borderline rude) minimal level of assistance with a self service machine. If they can't be bothered to sell you something that you bring to the checkout, I'm surprised people can be bothered to buy. (Although, that said, on reflection the self service till would probably have been both friendlier and more polite - perhaps that's why they replace staff with them!)

Good shop not bad good quality

Erith branch is my handy local go to shop when I need any kind of value for money clothing. I've bought shoes, pyjamas, jeans, shirts, slippers, jackets, socks and underwear over the last 5 years and at sensible prices and quality that you'd expect. I've found Matalan to be a case of "It does what it says on the tin!!" with distinction.
