Matalan

A decent sized out of town shed selling clothing for the family and other household items (towels and similar things). The stuff they sell is quite cheap and reasonable quality. Parking is available. The main bug bears are:
1) The stock can look like a jumble sale due to customers pulling things out and leaving it lying around.
2) There are often queues for the tills.

Phoned enquiring about a coat in the sale for for my granddaughter as I was having trouble locally.
Very helpful man answered (I think his name is Adam) and checked there stock and size for me & then checked on the shop floor, confirming they had limited stock & very kindly offered to put one aside for me to collect.

i am really pleased with Matalan, their clothes are brilliant i find i can get clothes that i dont see anywhere else. Staff are friendly and helpful which makes shopping easier. well done Matalan.

Matalan is a good shop, it has quality bedding and sheets, clothing (men, women & kids), bed clothes. There are plenty of staff who are polite, friendly and willing to help. The shop is clean and tidy.

Walked into the store trying to choose some bedding for my mother who has just come out of hospital having been battling a life threatening illness for months. Me and my partner didn’t have masks on because we are both genuinely exempt (have cards to prove this). A manager passing shouts to us “HAVE YOU GOT MASKS” she shouldn’t be asking for 1 and secondly when we tell you we’re exempt don’t raise your eye brows and go “yeah, alright” and mutter things under your breath whilst walking off. At this point we both left without buying anything and went in another shop and brought the items we where after. Completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. Please take some advise that NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE.

Paid for next day delivery and item never arrived. It's now a further 24 hours later and they can't tell me when my item will be delivered nor can they refund me (not even just the delivery charge). Absolutely horrendous customer service by their online team. Fortunately the staff in store are lovely but I won't be placing a click and collect order again. Unsurprisingly they use Evri/Hermes for their Click & Collect deliveries - had I known this in advance I'd have ordered from elsewhere.

I'm now without my item and without my money so that I can take my business elsewhere. You really need to look at your policy regarding Click & Collect orders and what courier services you're using.

EDIT Parcel eventually arrived on the afternoon of the 7th (it was due on the 5th). I then had to call customer services for a third time to request my next day delivery charge was refunded.

Terrible customer service, paid extra for next day click and collect, arrived to collect it and been told its been delivered to the wrong store and they don't know what store it is and can't do anything about it, manager basically ignored me and couldn't give a s*it offered me ti find stuff in store and paid for it again and I will get refund in next 5 days???, never again will shop in matalan. The stuff was also for wheelchair user who unable to get sizing in store, online online. Customer service just apologised but don't even know where my parcel went. Avoid.

Disappointed. Disappointed. Disappointed. Considering the size of the majority of ladies I see in the city, the fact that Matalan has a very limited stock for anything above XL surprised me. Ah well......
