Mansells Coffee Shop-wonderful!
We had lunch on Wednesday before Xmas and everything was superb. Great pleasant service. Excellent food and good tea. They may be tucked away Down Swan courtyard but worth finding and enjoy a great experience.

Wasn’t made aware that the pie I ordered was in fact a stew with a square of puff pastry on top. The veg it came with was carrots and swede with a few random bits of wilted rocket mixed in and deep fried cauliflower. The side of chips we ordered was an over-peppered bowl of sliced crispy potatoes - again wasn’t made aware. Nobody asked if everything was okay and didn’t seem to care that we didn’t touch the food, so we reluctantly paid to avoid embarrassment :(

An average little cafe who made a very nice hot chocolate, but was let down by the food platter which was more of a starter with not much on the plate for the price.

Lovely setting in the courtyard. Had a generous portion of broccoli quiche and salad which came with an extraordinary apricot and apple chutney that i’d never tasted before. I asked the chef what was in it as I paid and he told me how it was an old recipe and he’d been making it for years. As we left he ran up the courtyard and gave me a jar of his homemade apricot chutney suggesting it with cheese. The generosity blew me away. That is what Clitheroe is like, fantastic people and great service and this cafe is no exception. Food was fantastic and well worth a visit. Will be making another trip soon and this little cafe will be our go to for our visits.

Lovely lunch, gorgeous home made soup and amazing cakes. Owner was lovely, took time to chat with us and recommend some places to visit.

Fantastic place to eat, there was a superb choice of sandwiches, soup, larger meals and more inventive dishes. It was hard to decide what to go for. Sadly there was no room to try the array of delicious looking cakes but took some chocolate slab cake for later. Heaven!

On the plus side, friendly and good service. Went on a wet Saturday afternoon, quite quiet. The salad accompaniment was plentiful and fresh, with lots of leaves, fragrant dill and, somewhat unconventionally, pineapple and strawberry. However, their "posh fish and chips" lived up neither to the name nor the price, and the decor is dated. Room for improvement.
