Vegan Options? Yes.
TL;DR - Last paragraph below

You can’t go wrong at Urban Larder, a coffee shop frequented by locals. They serve great coffee with satisfying sandwiches and sweet treats at reasonable prices. They also sell their Coffee grounds and other local artisan products (i.e. Jams, chutney) in the shop. The shop is quite small so not the best place to visit with a big group if you’re planning to dine in.

They do usually have a few vegan options (I do wish they would start to offer some vegan cakes/sweet treats!). For food, the mainly offer salads and sandwiches. When I lived along Mill Road, I definitely was a regular at Urban Larder even if I were to just grab a coffee. Their toasties are AMAZING because of the thick slices of bread they use for it! The bread itself is so flavourful (I think its sourdough?) and always toasted to perfection to give a nice crunch while still crumbly and soft. They don’t skim on the toppings either. A few of the toasties I’ve had before: Artichoke & Mushroom Toastie, Avocado Toast, Grilled Cheese Toastie. Also a plus –friendly staff that are very accommodating to your needs.

TL;DR: I wholeheartedly recommend this local independent coffee shop for good coffee, toasties, lunchboxes and some selection of sweet and savoury baked goods, even just to buy to-go. Even if you’re on mill road or near the train station, pop by and grab a sandwich/toastie over Pret!

My favorite coffee shop in Cambridge. There’s good turnover in the seating options since they kindly ask patrons to not use the cafe as an office. Their coffee rivals other favorites in Cam (hot numbers, bould brothers). At lunch time they serve a three salad mix which is choc full of healthy ingredients and changes everyday. And when it’s nice out they have outdoor seating which gets great sun.

A very nice small indie-café, focusing on pastries, toasties, and cakes. Good coffee. The space is small, warm, charming, family-friendly, and slightly noisy.
There are very few vegan options, and very few non-bread options.
Wines, beers, and cocktails are offered in the evenings.

Fantastic little cafe with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious snacks and drinks and out of this world toasties.

The cafe is quite small with not many seats inside. There is some outside seating which is nice on a sunny day.

The coffee is really good, well balanced and the brownies and cakes on offer are amazing. Toasties are amazing. Literally no other word for them.

Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

These people are so nice!! We came in with a bunch of luggage and they didn’t make us feel bad at all. They were very welcoming. The coffee is amazing. Some of the best I’ve had in the UK!

Super cute cafe. Good selection of sourdough toasties (caters to vegans and meat eaters), coffee, tea and sweet nibbles. I went for the mushroom & aubergine toastie and a banana bread. Delicious!

Five stars for a banging tshirt and respectable coffee. Hot chocolate isn’t to be missed and the toasties looked like a good reason for a second visit. Staff were particularly helpful too

Nice little place which offers great toasties. The ingredients seem to be good quality ones and the portion size is good. There are different options to choose and I think I will return to try others. The only downside is that there are not many places to sit.
