Frog Bros Comics and Books

Went into Boscombe on Saturday 27th and was very disappointed with this shop. Why?

I understand a business has to earn a profit but I didnt like how they did it this weekend.

Two occasions -
1.. A couple brought a bag of US comics o the shop to see what they could get. They were selling the comics o behalf of a family member. The owner mentioned he might find some comics worth his while but the rest would go to charity shops (or his 50p box) :-) My problem here was if he didnt want to pay for them he just let them go without any advice. I went up to them after and mentioned put them on Facebook marketplace. Come on give advice!

2.. Another man came in with a bag of 5 graphic novels wanting to sell them. The guy in the shop didnt want them and was turning him away. I guy asked to take a look and bought one. I asked to see them as well. The owner wasnt very happy and demanded us to leave the shop. I had purchased a book from the Salvation Army and was accused of stealing with it. And he shouted as loud as he could. He missed out as the novels sold were as new.

Business is business but you also can be friendly.

Definitely something decidedly "off" about the owner. Not particularly friendly even if your purchasing something, borderline passive aggressive is how I would describe the customer service experience. A lot of reviewers have picked up on this with more incendiary observations than I can muster. I find it incredible that at a time when the High Street is literally disappearing before our eyes that the onus is not on trying to maintain some semblance of customer care. What is going on?! Its no wonder everyone shops online.

Fantastic store, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff and the comics are really well priced too in my opinion. I always enjoy swinging by most weeks to pick up my comics and browse what's new.

I wanted to buy a gift for a friend of mine. I know nothing about comics and asked for help. The guy working there was ver knowledgeable and answered all my questions.

I personally think the comics are very reasonably priced and hope this store continues to stay open. More stores like this should be about as they are so damn cool

Can't believe I haven't reviewed the only comic book shop I've ever used. If you need comics, why buy online when you can come in and talk to the shops wonderful owner who will gladly take the time to talk to you about your interests and comic book needs. I have been coming here for over 7 years now and couldn't recommend anywhere else to go! Support your local shops and make some friend while you're at it, all whilst becoming a more knowledgeable nerd.

An absolutely amazing experience every time I visit. Kieron and Hoppers have an amazing knowledge of everything in store as well as Warhammer, Comic lore, figurines, collectibles and everything else geeky! I look forward yo every visit to see what new stock is in. I'd be here every week if I was more local!!

A great comic shop with lots of choices, plus specific orders can be made which is a real bonus. Kieran the shop owner is also lovely & easy to chat to and can give the best advice on what read you might be looking for!
