Village shop and post office

Post Office Staff are fantastic and there is a range of wholefoods which delights us. Basics are catered for. Staff are pleasant at all times of the day. Thank You keep up the good work...

Such a shame that I must leave at least a 1 star review. It deserves zero.

I went to this shop at 9:30pm on a cold night wearing my coat with its hood up (I'm a bald man in his mid thirties and without a hood the cold quickly gets through my bald scalp!).

Within a minute of entering I am yelled at like a school child to take down my hood by the shop assistant. The assistant was positively furious and yelling to levels that make me worry about her blood pressure.

It turns out they have a sign on the door (among many others) stating that helmets and hoodies must be removed before entering. I've never come across such a sign before and I admit I don't read all window signs on shops before or after leaving.

Now, I'm not going to argue the difference between a coat and a hoodie. My complaint here is the way in which the assistant handled the situation. Had she calmly said "would you mind taking your hood down" I would have had no complaint.

Unless you want to run the risk of coming across power tripped assistants i'd give this shop a miss. There are much nicer shops in the area that thank you for your custom...

I do hope the assistant learns to calm down in the future for the sake of her own health...
