Virgin Wines

Nice wine, fast delivery but BEWARE. We made a one off order to try it out ... very nice wine ... but that's not the point. Several months later (after changing banks) £103 went missing from our new account. Virgin had not only managed to discover our new account details somehow (I'm sure that's quite illegal) and decided to send us a ton of Wine we didn't order.... READ THE FINE PRINT and save yourself a headache.

The founders created a good company, pricing is generally ok, customer service very good. They just need to be careful of increasing GM at the expense of brand reputation. The Virgin brand is perceived as better than Talk Talk or Ryanair because Virgin has good brand reputation and doesn't resort to hidden costs.
I have mystery shopped Virgin Wines and at the time of this review they have small print that entitles them to debit your bank account an extra £25 that goes into a 'Virgin Wines account' for you to spend on future orders. That's a default agreement when you place an order and not well signposted. For the review to be fair I will say they did refund this when requested. But how many customers won't notice the second debit or realise why?

I have been ordering wine cases for my best friend in the UK from Virgin Wines UK for years and my last order was placed in early December 2021. Due to some misunderstanding, they charged me for delivering a case of wine every quarter starting February 2022 and when I got the message from the courier company to confirm receipt of the wines by my friend, I became concerned and immediately contacted Virgin Wines and asked them to rectify the mistake. The customer officers David and Dan had been following up on this matter for me and they helped to resolve my concern almost immediately. I am most impressed by their helpfulness and efficiency and would highly recommend Virgin Wines to any one who wish to order quality wines online hassle free.

Great experience with Virgin Wines. They offer a good selection and the wines are very tasty, and when I needed to cancel my monthly membership with them, they quickly sorted this and refunded me without any issues. I will continue to buy from them for my ad hoc purchases.
