Been reporting fly tipping for months now its got so bad there are rats now. Outside my ground floor flat outside my kids bedroom window. Its disgusting. I've been phoning the council. And someone keeps picking up the phone then hanging up. 10 times this has happened to me. Fuming right now

Used bulky rubbish collection and had problems with the collection date. Daniel McKenzie-Brown went out of his way to help me sort the issue. Outstanding customer service. A pleasant surprise!

Rude staff who don't seem to know what's going on nor even have the basic level of knowledge required to help with anything.
One star is too much for this council. I could write an essay on how painful it is dealing with them Enjoy being bounced between a dozen departments, waiting a while to speak to anyone in each all for them to have no idea what to do. Absolutely rude and sarcastic stuff. Treating people like animals. Ridiculous Repairs Team. People who are vulnerable and come to you for help the least you can do as the local authority is to have a sympathetic approach and treat them like humans. Work is pending in my property and still haven't had anyone to start the work. A leaking toilet but still ignored.

Hackney council is the worst borough to deal with. It takes ages for them to pick up calls and when they eventually pick up, you cannot speak to the person in charge of your case. I was told that the someone will call within 3-5 working day. I called last week Monday 16/08/2022 and had a missed call today. Called them straight away, again the advisor said that he will leave a message for someone to call me.
I emailed them but they didn’t answer my question.
There is no facility on their website to check the history of your account.
In this age of technology, they cannot provide full online service but they are quick to take people to court for missed payment.

It’s a waste of time trying to speak to someone. The service provided is inadequate and useless.

Have been trying to register a death and it has been an absolute nightmare from the start. The registrars office advise you to do it online. When you get stuck with the online form the website advises you to call the registrars office. Only for them to say there is nothing they can do and to do it online....which then suggests that you call the office. Eventually I was told to MAKE UP the details to get through the form and explain it once I got to the appointment. Meanwhile the payment went through immediately yet any refund will take up to 10 working days to process.

I call to sort out my council tax twice, the first person I spoke to had limited interest what my issue was so i asked to speaktosomeoneelse, the second I couldn't hear as it sounded like she was in a day care centre. I'm guessing they working from home.

A council that is out of touch & incapable of generating real world solutions to their own problems.

A council more focussed on opening up tacky indoor mini golf courses than supporting the communities & businesses that contribute to the cultural landmark they are lucky enough to represent.

A council that chooses to/ encourages the harass(ment) of well behaved businesses & visitors/ customers under the guise of “public safety” or “environmental friendliness” when in reality, this harassment is purely a form of gouging e.g. extortionate business rates, parking charges & unreasonable ticketing procedures; directly contributing to the cost of living crisis.

All this in an effort to negate their awful spending and budgeting.

for the past over 2 years whenever you need anything, they tell you they've been hacked so they cant do anything for you, but that doesn't stop them closing more roads every few weeks and putting up cameras all over the place, enforcing fines- many times even out of hours.., plus plus.. making the residents life more misery in all possible ways, sounds like a 1 way system...
